I do like my garmin but as a runner I love that I with the AWU2 I can leave my phone at home and still have a means off communications with me. If Garmin ever do cellular on a watch it'd convert me 100%.
Totally valid use case. Garmin is missing out on a big part of the market by not simply adding LTE versions of their most popular watches. Especially runners who like to leave their phone behind.

I’ve heard some people actually use their Apple Watch as a mini cell phone. Just keeping it in their pocket while they run with their garmin. My wife is a runner and she wishes there was an LTE versions but she got a running vest she can put her phone in so it’s not the biggest issue right now.

The large model Series 10 is too big for me, too. The large Series 7-9 was my upper limit.

Not sure I'll stick with the Garmin, but I'm curious...last owned a Garmin before the Series 3. I've been regularly doing 2-4 hour trail runs and my Apple Watch doesn't cut it, plus where I trail run there is zero cell service, from any company, so not concerned about that.

What model Garmin that?

It's the battery health. After a couple years, an Apple watch is in pretty bad shape. My S6 is at 72% and worth virtually nothing.
^^ all good points. I can deal with the Apple Watches sub bar battery life a bit when I first get it, but after a year I’ve found myself charging multiple times a day. The battery just gets worse over time. And when the watch only had 1 day battery life, there’s really no buffer for battery degradation. You’re gonna run through charge cycles super fast charging it daily. My garmin, which I charge every week or so? A year from now the battery life will probably still get me through the week. I remember buying the first Apple Watch ultra wanting better battery life but still found myself pretty much charging it everyday.

My current watch is a garmin venu 3. My wife has the 3s. I thought with it being round it was going to feel bigger than my Apple Watch but surprisingly it feels much more compact and comfier on the wrist than my series 10. There’s a definite cool factor having a round watch after years of having Apple Watches too

yep, I still have an S4 (which I bought used) and just keep replacing the battery. All I want it to do is tell the time and record my activity/sleep, which it does just fine. When it eventually dies I'll be getting a Garmin.
Do you replace the battery yourself on the cheap or do you pay $69? for Apple to do it?

I put my series 10 up on OfferUp in early April for a competitive price. Included pictures. Have good reviews on my profile. The whole deal.

I’ve gotten a single lowball offer in an entire month and that’s it.

Wife put hers up on OfferUp as well at about the same time. Same thing. She put hers up on swappa as well and haven’t gotten any responses either.

In the past whenever I sold an apple product. ANY apple product they were always incredibly easy to sell. I’d put it up and it would be sold within a day or two. A month later? This is unheard of.

Is it declining demand for Apple Watches? Tariffs and recession worries?
You're not alone — I've noticed slower interest lately too. Could be due to newer models dropping resale value fast. Might help to adjust the price or try different platforms like Swappa or FB Marketplace.

Same with an old iPhone 14 Pro1TB here in UK, competitive offer one lowball offer in a month no one interested in old Apple gear any more it seems.

Just sold my S6 and SE on ebay fine. When my S10 gets S6 age I'm just not going to bother any more.

I had such a hard time selling my series 6 (80% battery, no scratches, three watch bands in good condition). In the end, it took me several months and I sold it for way less than I thought I would get. I even considered keeping just for the memories. I also went through selling a Garmin Epix with a similar experience...

I basically bought and the resold an Apple Watch Ultra2 Black just to try it out and play with it. I sold it because one HOPES the Ultra3 will feature real upgrades.

Apple needs real battery life, navigation for events other than running or walking, and to focus less on things like AI and more on things like why can't I sideload some audiobooks onto a device that has 32-64 gigs on it?

Finally LTE can be what sells the Apple Watch but the experience has become a subscription magnet and spending often $12-15 a month to "share" your iPhone line completely negates that Apple advantage there.

Then you add lack of O2 sensor, lack of real custom screens and more and it becomes like a giant donut hole of unmet need.

I mean most people are not rushing to buy an Apple Watch right now. Try reducing the price. Come September, there will be more supply in the market.

Doesn't Apple just send you a refurb and then use yours to refurb? If so, presumably does the water seal.
Not sure, haven’t had to do a battery replacement on my Ultra yet.

Interestingly, you can have Apple test the depth gauge and waterproof capability for like $79. They do say if it fails it’s on you without AppleCare heh.
