We're mere hours away from the big OnePlus 2 reveal, however the next flagship phone from the upstart manufacturer has already been unveiled in its entirety by a poster over on the Android Central forums.

AC forums poster chinaleakking has outed the OnePlus 2 in what appears to be a series of professionally-shot photos of the phone. They show a handset with a metal frame, the promised fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port and rear-mounted speakers. Power and volume keys are found over on the right, while there's what looks like a mute switch over on the left. Behind the textured back panel there's a dual SIM slot, as promised.

Looks very nice in fairness. Now let's hear pricing and then the full extent of the 'hoops' that we all must jump through in order to have the 'privilege' of giving a company our hard earned money ....

If it was any other company releasing the device on mass normally I would definitely purchase, (assuming it's reasonably priced) but at this stage I'd rather pay a few € more for a company who appreciates that they are lucky to have the 'privilege ' of my custom rather than the ego to assume the reverse.

I'm not really going to get this, but just curious, what's the process this time? How does one sign up to get it?

Sign up to their forum. Whore yourself out on social media. Become a one plus fan boy. Actively flame anyone saying anything against the hideous social media targeted competitions. And maybe, just maybe you will get one within 180 days of launch .....

Seriously.

Sadly it's like an indoctrination procedure for a cult. Literally brainwashed into submission with promise of invite if you 'play ball' and threat of no invite if you dare to think otherwise. It makes their forums a horrible place and where even the staff post responses to people questioning anything that are just plain nasty.

Do not ask about when you will get an invite - on threat of not getting an invite

Start an utterly pointless and redundant thread or join one of the hundreds promising to share your invite if you get one.

Do not talk about other phones positively on the forum - everything else HAS to #Suck

Believe 'everything one plus / Carl tells you' without any hesitation regardless how bizarre or unlikely. Hesitation awards you only with the threat of no invite.

It's really that kind of place ........ I know some ex and current moderators who I chat too on hangouts who have nothing good to say about the company after being burned by them and sold down the river with empty promises.

One Plus want your unrestrained unquestioning Loyalty and they achieve this dangling a carrot on a stick in the form of an 'invite'.....

It's genius ... It's also horrid.

I think the real issue is increased competition. Didn't ZTE release something recently that challenges the whole high-end specs/build for low/mid range price?

Agreed. It looks like a great phone, however, the company behind it leaves a lot to be desired.

Everything you need to know is right here: https://oneplus.net/invites

Just put in your e-mail address, and wait for your invite. Pretty simple and straightforward.

You can get an invite from friends who have purchased a OnePlus 2 already, or by participating in our contests and promotions.

That's the normal. The sign up is for invites that may be left if those above don't claim.

We reserve some invites for special cases.

Sign up for the reservation list – you’ll have a chance to get an invite if any are left unused.

And given they are upto 300,000 on the reserve list and it took them nearly a full year to produce & sell 500,000 one plus ones - you have a long long wait.

Nearly all the major tech sites posted around the same time when people were able to sign up. First come, first serve. Luckily for me, I saw it posted everywhere, and quickly signed up. I'm around 4,000 in line. :)

Gotta admit this is one good looking phone. Wont go through all the craziness and invites and or waiting lists to get this phone. But maybe later this fall when it is available to everyone my curiosity when get the better one me.

The OnePlus 2 runs on a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor with 1.8GHz “Octa-core CPUs” as well as an Adreno 430 GPU. The Snapdragon 810 does have some heat issues, but it's really unavoidable for most companies this generation. We'll have to see how well the OnePlus 2 deals with heat when we have more time with it.

It’s added an extra GB of RAM (from 3GB to 4GB), and it retained its whopping 5.5-inch, 1080p display as well as a 13MP camera and 5MP front-facing camera. The new camera supports shooting 4K video, as well. The increased specs also merit a slight bump in battery capacity—the OnePlus 2 has a 3300mAh lithium-ion polymer battery, up from last year’s 3100mAh.
