Wonder what Motorola's thinking right now...
Yeah Moto was going to live in the bottom budget phone space but it looks like OPO just booted them out of there. This phone has the specs and appearance to be a special phone. Too bad they have that stupid invite system.

Invite system sucks 100%. Not gonna argue with that.

However, if one can get their hands on one of these, this'll be a killer device to own.

-It's a beauty.
-Monster specs, but smart enough to hold back where it counts: the screen resolution.
-Speaking of which, the battery life on this thing should be insanely good!
-Very clean android. Unbloated. Little additions and tweaks. Oxygen is untested but it looks promising and is what us android enthusiasts have always wanted. Something lean and clean but with a few useful and smart extra features.

The camera remains to be seen if it can stand up to Samsung, Apple, and LG. But also promising.

And that price. Oh goodness, that price.

Let's see what Motorola can do tomorrow!

As long as they hit the same 499 price as the Motorola X 2014 and have the ability to actually supply the phone should you wish to purchase rather than make you finger the devil's smudge hole to buy one, then even at $110 more than the One Plus 2 64gb I do not think they are concerned.

Besides QHD, SD card, 21mp and better software support and more importantly vastly superior customer support also come along for the ride.

True. I hope Motorola does well.

I wish they had kept NFC on the OnePlus Two. With mobile payments starting to take off, and fairly positive impressions on Samsung Pay, this seems like a major missed opportunity to utilize that fingerprint scanner + Android Pay functionality.

However, for those who don't care for mobile payments, there's not much to complain about. The price is on point and if it's anything like the OPO, the battery life will be amazing and OS buttery-smooth.

Sign up to their forum. Whore yourself out on social media. Become a one plus fan boy. Actively flame anyone saying anything against the hideous social media targeted competitions. And maybe, just maybe you will get one within 180 days of launch .....

Seriously.

well, all i did year ago: i saw a news article about the phone, checked their sites, signed up and participated the contest (the last day it was open) and couple of days later got an invite. and it tooks couple of weeks when i had the phone on my hand... and this year it is rumpured to be even easier :D (ok, i should have taken my chance in a lottery on that day.)

A preorder list would have been still the best choice.

Well this does have everything that I would expect from a phone from 2016, and at that price? Ridiculous. But the display could have been better. Couldn't care less about QHD, but no AMOLED? Don't see why AMOLED is so lowly adopted.

Beautiful phone with nice specs. I'll say it: it's a lot better looking, TO ME, than the iPhone 6. Wish it wasn't quite so large. Signed up for invite so when it eventually comes, will likely get one to replace my iPhone 5. Although, are they dropping the price on the OPO? Picking up one of those isn't an entirely bad option either.

No it seems to be no longer available online store at all.

And people are already trying to spam each other in the forums to get invites and bump themselves up the chain .... It's painful already. Members 'promising' invites if a person signs up using their specific link .... A false promise they have no control of - but initiated by one plus telling people

"Thanks for your interest in the OnePlus 2! You'll be notified once you get an invite. In the meantime, you can skip the queue by sharing the love with friends from https://oneplus.net/invites?kid=KREFPD."

It implies those who sign up via each specific link, gets people bumped up the list. A promise that I have no doubt One Plus will not honor in any shape and form and one that is merely created to manipulate the rabid hyped up fanboy forum users to spam forums and social media with this.

Genius but completely insidious marketing once again.

Was interested, then saw no Qi or PMA charging. I can live without NFC, not so keen on no Wireless Charging, especially since they are using a not widely available charging port. And to add insult to injury, there is no fast charging support either...

Cool phone, but what's the point if you can't actually buy it?

Let's see how onrplus handles it this time. They promise it'll be veyter, easier, and faster. Time will tell.

It truly is unfortunate though that the invite system exists. Like MRU said, it probably is to build up hype and get the media and people into a buying/bidding frenzy. Real shame.

But, like I said, once you can get your hands on one, it looks like it'll be a winner

Moto X Style. Better specs and $399 for the pure edition from Best Buy.

They even allow you to buy it ;). The One Plus advantage (price) looks very unimpressive now.

5.7" QHD
Stereo Front Facing Speakers
21mp rear camera
3,000 mAh battery
Micro SD card for support to 128gb

$399 !!

One Plus just got pimped big X style.

No NFC
No quick charging capability
Uses USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0
US$400 for the 64GB version
In the U.S., will the One Plus Two even work on Verizon's or Sprint's CDMA networks? You've just excluded half of your potential U.S. customer base if it doesn't.

I can't see Motorola/Lenovo being too worried about this phone.

The Android mid-range market is getting very crowded. I don't see how the One Plus Two is going to be able to stand out.

The One Plus One was really groundbreaking. But now, this is just another mid-range phone in an already crowded field.

My take on the OnePlus Two, being a OnePlus One owner myself;

I still own my OnePlus One, but it's a secondary phone left at home, kept if I break my current phone, the Nexus 6, which I love, and like much more than the OPO.

- The OnePlus One last year for $350 was the deal of the year, it matched the specs and hardware of the other popular flagships at the time, the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8, both selling for $650. The OPO was every bit the match of those phones, with even better battery life. Was it better or a "flagship killer" ? No, but it was a very nice smartphone. The only downside to me,w as the piss poor camera, which was really bad quality, and the screen was just ok, I thought it looked washed out, and had a bluish tint. I really did not like the screen at all, it seemed cheap, compared to the beautiful One M8 screen, or the AMOLED S5 screen, no comparison,, but then again the phone was only $350, and for that price nothing even came close to it.

- OnePlus Two, after reading the quick reviews this morning, seems like a "budget" phone now. No NFC, No Quick Charging, still the same average quality screen from last year, No Micro SD slot. It still seems like a nice phone, but not compared to last years OPO compared to other 2014 phones at the time, the OPT seems lesser for sure now compared to the S6 or G4.

And some reviewers like MKHBD saying battery life is lesser on the OnePlus Two compared to the OnePlus One by a fair amount. He had the phone for two weeks to test. OPO got like 6+h Screen On time, the OPT got like 4.5h Screen On time.

And then the whole 'Invite system" is just a sad joke now, and using it again for 2015 is lame  And this year we are finally seeing other budget Android phones hit the market from China and others, at similar price points, with similar specs.

Bottom line, as a OnePlus One owner, I have zero interest int he OnePlus Two. Will wait to the what Google offers up with the two new Nexus phones this Fall, supposedly a budget Nexus 5 ( 2015 ) and a higher end 5.7" screen Nexus.

on the other hand it takes over 3hours to charge it from zero to full... oh boy... what did they think?

Yeah, Motorola succeeded in stealing their thunder. Kudos to Motorola. I was worried they'd pull an HTC.
