I never criticized the iPod actually its quite the opposite. But as I mentioned I feel like there is another line of products made by Apple that worth your try and make you less dependent to your iPod. This is what I meant and this is why I sold it. But guys no one should argue that the iPods is almost finished even if its still popular among some users. And 77 million dollar business is nothing more than a drop compared to iPhone or iPad revenue. You can't argue the fact that we might face the end of iPods next year.:apple:

I love my current ipod touch as well, the whole "everyone just uses an iphone, no point for ipod touch to exist" argument is so silly. I use iphone on the go, and ipod in the house. this way it's easy to keep them both charged, and i don't have to use the fat brick that is the iphone around the house.

a giant paragraph of bold text is rude, wtf were you thinking!!

Am sorry English is a second language for me.

It may not be much compared to the other products but, 77 million dollars is still 77 million dollars (most companies don't even earn 77 million dollars) :D.

I do a lot of WORK with my iPod touch. Spreadsheet review, notes - either notes, wunderlist or evernote, 200 emails reviewed a day, and, when I'm in the car, I have the device for music.

Value for me is quite high... it is small enough for a pocket (iPad mini is not), and, no monthly carrier fees.

You are NOT wrong for getting an iPod ….. Touch. I STILL my classic, well at home and my nano at the gym…….. I have others that I retired in a box somewhere ???? There is something about the click-wheel I have love some much - easy perhaps? I do do a lot of iTunes streaming on my iPhone and I do love that I can see all of the album covers in a particular play list, which the classic and nano does not do.

I'm pondering the idea of getting a new Touch this fall/winter……………

The iPod Touch isn't going anywhere. There's still people like me out there who use an Android phone, but want a cheaper iOS device to be able to have access to the App Store as well for a few exclusive titles. There's also a lot of Apple centric homes out there that aren't ready to hand a $700 phone to their child, but don't want to leave the Apple ecosystem as they've invested so heavily into iTunes, and don't want to purchase twice for two platforms.

So negative thoughts was all over me that I bought the wrong device and I really should start to move forward and stop being a freak about old Apple products.

There is no "wrong device" and iPod touch is really just an iPhone without the phone or a smaller iPad mini without the cellular service option.

I remember Louis CK (really funny comedian, look him up if you don't know his work) talking about the original iPhone when it first came out and saying he was really only interested in the "wide screen iPod" aspect of the device (one of the 3 pillars Steve Jobs was stressing during it's introduction, along with "phone" and "Internet connected device") Apple soon released the iPod touch because a lot of people thought the same thing: "I really don't need the phone"

I could see your point if you just purchased an iPod classic (I think they still sell it) but the iPod touch is a great device. It's only "wrong" if you also need a smart phone (But I bet there are some people who have an Android/Windows phone and an iPod touch)

An iPod touch is not an iPod and it's not an MP3 player. It's a phone-less iPhone. Not everyone wants/can afford the insane monthly fees asked by the carriers.

Absolutely correct. I have an iPod Touch 64GB for 2 purposes : music and apps, using only free WiFi networks. This way I can avoid the expense due to 3G and 4G monthly rates. ;)
And I have also a cheap Android phone in another pocket, only to use as … a phone, nothing more.

Discovering the iPhone 6 prices and the new iPhone 5 prices today, they remain far too expensive to buy and to use. For me at least.

My iPod Touch will live many years :)

A week ago I bought a brand new 32G iPod touch (pretty expensive for MP3 player) but anyway, I was so excited that I have one because I am an old iPod owner with 5 iPod's in my drawer.
About a couple of days ago I realized that's what I had actually bought is a doomed device with no future and even very limited use. You know guys iPod's are history no one is using them except the loyal old owners and some athletes. Everybody now is using iPhone/Smartphone or Tablet. The days of MP3 players is officially gone now and Tim Cook said that about 9 months ago he said: iPod's are declining business.
So negative thoughts was all over me that I bought the wrong device and I really should start to move forward and stop being a freak about old Apple products.
The iPod was revolutionary It was my companion since 2004 but I think the iPod touch that I sold today is the last one for me.:apple:

Congrats enjoy getting a 64gb iPhone instead.
