Your comment directly contradicts what multiple people at Apple have assured me. It also contradicts common sense. These batteries are designed to swell.
they huh.
I'm sorry, I just got mental whiplash. You mean to tell me that batteries swelling is a feature? As in, Apple employees told you that swelling batteries are a safety feature and that it's supposed to happen after just a few years?

there
Here's ifixit.com 's take on swollen batteries. They are reliable, authoritative source of information about Mac repairs, not just some bloke on the internet.
but we Mac users provide ifixit users with info, which I have been doing since 2006.
they have only a few lab persons that I am aware of and their website presence is to sell parts, kinda over-priced.
im not knocking the site, I used and contributed to them regularly and help when needed on Mac repairs.

And like I said, a swollen battery increases those chances. For someone telling me to read the thread you sure failed to do so.
Bunkum and balderdash. You specifically stated, "I didn't even read any of the other comments." I merely suggested that you do so because your "facts" seem an awful lot like your "opinion."

Hey hey hey. Let's all chill out. Balderdash is heavy language, you wouldn't want your mom hear you say that.

LOL. Yes -- this is exactly what I was told. But, whether designed to do so or not, lithium-ion batteries are known to swell over time and should be replaced. It's pretty common. But they are normally not a fire hazard unless punctiured -- which most likely would occur when they are being replaced. This is why replacement should be done by a professional.

Because what I stated isn’t opinion and it’s important op gets it taken care of. I don’t care to read any fluff from others acting like it’s not a big deal when it is.

You provided 0 facts. Just your fluffy opinion. It's not a big deal if you are actually worried about fiery explosions -- unless you think Apple, Dell, HP, Razor and all the others are tryng to kill people. Shouting fire in a crowded theater is reckless.
