definitely agree with the potential of the iPad as a great creation tool, I have written a good few thousand words on mine since getting it... I don't claim to be the fastest typer in the world but I am sure I type at least as quick on the iPad, autocorrection lets me not even finish typing a lot of words so there is a lot to be said for it as a creation-station!

Although I do understand that typing on a touchscreen isn't to everybody's tastes.

I have enjoyed typing on it as well and being able to write most anywhere. The only slight thing I'm wishing for is cursor controls for editing text. I don't know if it's my fat fingers or the text selection trying to outsmart me, but I have trouble selecting specific text I want for minor edits. I'm not looking to revise entire drafts of novels, but little annoying things like adding in a comma or replacing a phrase tend to be kind of a pain.

Doesn't stop me from fully enjoying it for writing however!

Drawing: Now that i've showered ArtStudio with praise, I'm finding it to be laggy, too. I don't know whether that's because of the update, or because Brushes is more responsive and I've become used to that.

I reported the "pencils turns off" bug to the developer and he responded right away. He also says he's working on high-res output but wouldn't expect to have that for at least two months.

Writing: I did a lot of writing on my iPhone--I had about thirty pages not yet backed up when it was stolen. I felt very comfortable using it for composition of long texts while on the train, sitting in a park, etc. I'm not sure what's holding me back from using the iPad in the same way--I'm probably just more focussed on art at the moment. I could see the iPad being a great little word processor-on-the-go, even if not a replacement for the laptop.
