When did Steve Jobs say this?

It's all hearsay...

http://www.techcrunch.com/2010/01/24/steve-jobs-tablet-most-important/

“This will be the most important thing I’ve ever done” – Steve Jobs, referring to the soon-to-be-launched Apple Tablet.

We haven’t heard this first hand, but we’ve heard it multiple times second and third hand from completely independent sources. Senior Apple execs and friends of Jobs are telling people that he’s about as excited about the upcoming Apple Tablet as he’s ever been. Coming from the man who has created so much, that’s saying something.

If Steve Jobs thinks the iPhone was just a warm up act to this device, I can’t wait to see what it can do. As if our expectations weren’t already set high enough. We’ll all know a lot more this Wednesday.

So that'll be more crap journalism, then.

I might actually start reading news papers again if they have a special edition for the iPad that can be downloaded to it in the morning.

That can be one way of how it could change things.

Medical apps, business presentations, it really is going to be all the apps that can take advantage of this.

The iPad should have been marketed as a "revolutionary" and "magical" e-book reader. That would have set peoples expectations to the Kindle range of functionality. Instead, crapple sold it as a bridge between an iPhone and a Macbook. It is nothing more than an iPod Touch on steriods. Apple could have avoided a lot of the disappointment by just saying it is going to be a good e-book reader and not overstating its value and importance. For God's sake, they put a 1ghz processor chip in there and can only handle doing one task at a time. sheesh

The thick of it
...and these are just from the first page...

Those are really eye-opening. The parallels are remarkable. I can remember when the iPod first came out and I thought, "So what?" But that's why I'm not a CEO. Jobs can see a bigger picture.

I'm eager to see how the iPad does. I'm sure as it evolves I'll eventually get one. But right now I just can't see why.
