What's the point of USB ports? What would you really use them for? Transferring any content from your camera can be done with the $29 camera kit. Syncing any media can be done with the included USB cable via your Mac or PC. All your other data can be stored in the cloud.

I ordered the Wifi only version. I might not always have access to the Cloud. I keep files on a USB drive that I was hoping I could just "grab and go" and not have to worring about having to sync before leaving. But whatever.

Lower price.
More memory.
USB port.
Lighter weight.
Real Magic. :D

-Pen
-Bigger screen/smaller bezel
-Triple battery life
-Multitasking
-HD capability (at least 720p) and capability to stream to a TV Wirelessly.

These two posts say it all for me. Multitasking is definitely a MUST for ver2. I'd also like to see the iPad a full fledged independent product. No more needing a Mac or PC to plug it into.

I'd love to see Jobs not care about milking the cash cow App Store so much, and actually make a product that isn't just a big iPod Touch.

OH! And full Mac OS X running on this thing, no iPhone OS at all! Or, Apple can buy Palm and take that Web OS, multitasking, filesystem goodness.

Front-facing camera
32GB wiFi/3G = $599
Better than a Snapdragon spinoff
More RAM and Multitasking

In short most are waiting for things that aren't extremely unlikely to come in version 2 (and most not in vers 3 or vers 4)

16:9 Not happening. This is the wrong ratio for a tablet. With a bunch of cheap 16:9 screens to choose from, Apple almost certainly commissioned exactly the LCD size/resolution/aspect that they wanted. They same goes for more resolution, different screen technology. They are going to stick with this for quite some time, likely several versions.

USB/SD ports/slots. Yeah I would like this too, but again don't see it happening. This kind of reduces drive to buy more expensive version with more memory.

Actual pressure sensitive stylus input. Not happening. This will remain a hard glass screen with capacitive overlay. Stylus will remain 3rd party capacitive with fat tips.

Things that don't depend on version:
Multi-tasking. This will be in an OS update or it won't. It won't be a version 1 vs Version 2 thing.

Things that actually might be in version two:
Slight memory size/price adjustments.
Possibly a camera on some models.

IMO if you are really waiting for version two, I hope it is a camera you want, because that is likely to be about the extent of notable changes.

You forget there's not an internet connection all the time, so no cloud. And as you say, for 'just' $29 you can transfer images. And what about other devices? I don't necessarly want to use iTunes. It should be more independent.

An OLED screen would be a nice option. On the software end I agree user security seems like a no brainer.
Oh and Ponies probably Miniature or Unicorns. Actually now that I think about it Minature Unicorn ponies would be the way to go. Definitely.. :p

I'd love to use the iPad to drive my projector (or HDTV), so I could buy/download true HD movies online and just plug the iPad into my projector/HDTV. I don't like watching movies on a little portable screen.

Plus, I do a lot of photography presentations. 1080p would match my projector, and let me leave the laptop at home.

I'm excited about the iPad (and getting one), but the most disappointing feature to me was the crummy VGA output resolution. Anyway, I'm sure this is something that'll get better in V2, V3...

I would love to see an accessory allowing you to send video by wifi, (wifi, HDMI adapter) use the iPad to access content from your main iTune library and stream it to the iPad, replacing your ATV

Kindle-Like Data agreement. Price of data for life is bundled with the device. I don't want to pay more per month. :p

I didn't say it was "just" $29, not sure why you're putting words in my mouth.

I'm sure other devices will be able to plug in via the USB connector as long as they retain the file structure common in cameras (and other devices).

We haven't even had version 1.0 yet and we are talking about 2.0?

Please, get off your high horse...iPad will likely never have many of the things people want it to be (stylus input for example).

So he's on a high horse because he asked what features people would like to see?

Sensitive much?

-More independence from computer (Currently, you need a Mac/PC to use the iPad to its full capabilities. Jason Snell talked about this from Macworld, it would be awesome if the iPad 2 could be less dependant on a home base - meaning the computer -. Include a USB port to possibly plug in a camera and transfer photos/an SD card reader, for instance, instead of selling it separately. The iPad's got a filesystem, so I'm looking forward to Apple to find ways to move away from the computer and make the iPad a self-sustained product).

I'm looking forward this to too!

I think, eventually, we'll see 3G become a base feature and have it available for over the air purchases "for free", like the Kindle. I think they will also use it to sell MobileMe accounts and give you "free" push email from mobile me, and access some limited data from your MobileMe account, etc. Maybe not v2, but eventually.

If I were waiting, I'd be waiting for back/front facing cameras.

Better than a Snapdragon spinoff
So... you've extensively tested the power of the A4? From what I saw, looked pretty damn fluid/fast to me. Are you going by the megahertz myth and assuming one 1GHz processor has the exact same performance as another 1GHz processor?

You know how much RAM it has too?!?! Where are you acquiring this information?

QFE. Really, a vast majority of the "wants" posted here are ridiculously outlandish, and will simply never never ever happen.

I thought I saw somewhere that you can get component cables for the current iPad.

Support for 1024 by 768 pixels with Dock Connector to VGA Adapter; 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable

That's exactly my point... 576p or 480p is nowhere near 1080p. It's basically not usable for what I need to do. (There's plenty of other stuff I can do with the iPad, which is why I'm getting one, but it's no good for HD presentations)

Front facing camera
USB port
Multi tasking

Want but will never have...

flash support
full or hybrid version of full OS

iSight + iChat

I'll order a 3G version the day it's announced (even if videochat only works on Wifi).
