Ughh. Las Vegas has gotten more snow in the entire season than we have in DC so far. That's just sad. Today all we got was rain. Why can't it actually snow here for once?

I'm from Chicago and over that past couple days we've gotten about 8 inches, and its been in the single digits. Wonder what would happen in vegas if the same thing happened. :D

I'm from Southeastern Michigan, and we got six inches last Wednesday, then another six early this morning, on top of a half of an inch of ice.

It's going to stay well below freezing for over a week.

Sunday we're supposed to get another 3-5 inches, then Wednesday ANOTHER 3-5 inches.

Mind you, nothing is going to melt between this time as it's supposed to stay in the low 20's and cloudy, sometimes dropping into the teens or single digits.

With a bit of wind.

We're going to be buried.

I'd laugh so hard if I was in Vegas right now. I thoroughly enjoy my snow, and over here it takes A LOT of it to stop people from going about daily life. The only thing that closed schools here today, including my college, was the fact that we had freezing rain for a while. I was frustrated that it was hard to find a snow shovel yesterday though =\ everyone was preparing for the upcoming storms this next week.

Don't have anywhere that amount of snow yet but they said we shouldn't be getting that much... yeah like I'm going to believe the weather stations lol.

Again, I love how regions which normally get snow scoff at what fell in Vegas. We have no means by which to clear off the snow. No shovels, no plows, no snowblowers, no plane de-icing equipment.

It isn't about the quantity, it's about the fact that we never get snow and were thus completely unprepared. :p

We may scoff, but deep down we're jealous. I'd trade my snow shovels for sunshine and warmth in an instant.

I do not miss the snow at all... livin in Colorado for most of my life, I like visiting because it guarantees that I won't have to shovel it!

.5" is still enough to hose the whole town. Happens here every time it snows. What do most people do when temps rise to 110-115+ in the summer? Panic and die. It's normal to us.

Humidity is another story...

we got bombed here in the PNW the last few weeks. I had to put chains on in 40 mph winds in freezing rain, and the temperature w/o wind chill was a balmy 12 degrees... 2 feet of snow in like 3 days...

Lots of people in my complex were stranded. This is near downtown PDX
