Tik Tok is the least of your problems. Watch out for messaging apps where the predators hang out. In fact, take away her phone until she's in High school.

For some reason, TikTok has access to my contacts, even though access within the app and on iOS is disabled and always has been.
I keep seeing things like "Joe Bloggs is in your contacts and has a TikTok profile, follow now" or similar sometimes when using TikTok.

10-12 years ago a friend of mine who is much older than me bought a laptop for his kids. When I was at his place to help him with setting up wifi I've noticed that the brand new laptop had it's webcam taped on. I asked him why he did that. He wasn't a technical interested person at all but he read somewhere that it is possible for hackers to take control over laptop and can see everything via it's webcam. I told him not to worry about it. But when I saw a foto of Zuckerberg had taped his laptops cam, I thought about my friend. And now a days a lot of pc laptops has a inbuilt cover for their cams. So, a lot of conspiracy theories have become facts in time.
Mine don’t have webcams built in from my first laptop to the present. Do all that from your phone.
Buy Dell business class, Zuck also uses Thunderbird as his email client in that photo. They say the mic is taped over but I would also have that disabled in the hardware. The sucky side is that the optical drive is read only. Yes, I buy refurbished laptops from Dell or Lenovo business class.
