Just the fact that that "article" calls the Apple Watch "iWatch", demonstrates what it is: trash.

"Uninspiring"? Uninspiring only because nobody else is able to copy. It's bigger than any other swiss brand on the first year (and not by "units") but Rolex, and in the second year, I smell the biggest watch brand.

The technology is not easily imitable and the design impossible to reach to other brands, also, the trust people have in Apple to make a decent quasi-medicinal device is unparalleled to the other Asian companies. Sorry, Android fanboys salivating at this article.
The Apple watch is fat and ugly. Apple needs to focus their "super thin" design team on the actualization of the concept.

Aha, then what? They'll sell you one?

No, it doesn't, it's 2016, not 2026. Nobody else makes better anyway.

It needs that battery life, it will get "thinner" with the time, just like everything else did.

The Super Thin Apple Watch Pro will be a watchless 1 mm thin oled display,
with a micro thin, ajustable length, al lu min i um dongle
that attaches it to the actual watch unit soldered to the armpit
and powered by body heat. On cold days users need to put
their hands in their armpits and make a flapping motion with their arms.

To avoid embarrassing situations because of the resulting farting noises,
Super Thin Apple Watch Pro user will receive 5% off iPhone ring tones
featuring trumpet, English horn, Bassoon and Tuba classic by Haydn, Telemann and Bach.
Stay tuned.

great example of how all what made sense in the apple line up and its customers is wrong nowadays.

Apple watch lacking blood pressure monitoring, overpriced and bulky square shape are the main reasons why I don't buy it. Doesn't offer anything that the iPhone already provides.

I think Apple wasn't sure how it was going to market the apple watch. At first prior to its released, they positioned it primarily as a high fashion jewelry. Yes, they had the less expensive model, as a nod to those who want to work out, but clearly the focus at least initially was for fashion. That didn't really pan out, and as people opted for the sports model, they had to re-direct their efforts and we see more fitness functions being added in, like the GPS and a more robust workout app.

I agree with what you've said at minimum.

What i think is that Apple knew full well the watch would have multiple iterations (obviously) and opportunistically marketed the first as jewellery. You can only play that card once though until people see the core of the Apple Watch is the technology not the marksmanship (obviously). so now it's business as usual from tim and his mates.. no significant improvements in the watch but trademark Tim Cook prices (obviously)

This is something of a sticking point on the forum. I definitely acknowledge that all software has its little issues, but in my experience the bugs are more and more moving into the territory of fundamental functioning of apps not just side features. I am SURE to get someone saying that's anecdotal, but I also think I've seen plenty of the same sentiment around the internet
Which still makes it anecdotal.

This is for anyone that takes an anecdotal story and behaves as if it were intended as a statement of indisputable fact on the part of the original post;

There is a difference between right and wrong.
There isn't necessarily a difference between right and anecdotal or wrong and anecdotal.
Can we please stop throwing the word anecdotal around as if it renders the original statement complete abstraction!?!?

Seems like you brought up the whole anecdotal piece of it.

Listen to Jobs Keynotes and then look at the current keynotes. Its like a whole other league
Which doesn't change anything about what I mentioned.

Good, because the Samsung or Android Wear is offering blood pressure monitoring, right?

Ridiculous! These Apple haters

Your experience is wrong, I bet you don't even own Apple devices, Apple has the highest costumer satisfaction in the industry.

You sound like Tim Cook telling me what my experience is. And you lost the bet. I've owned a version of the mac for over ten years, an iPhone every 2 years, and an iPad too. I'm an engineer with some software dev experience so maybe I examine the software a little more closely than the average owner

Good for you, because I'm also a software engineer with a MsC in EECS.
