Maybe you can create the technology to convert their in-house files into digital format.
It's called a scanner.

I'm off the "Time" magazine wagon as well, at least until they restructure their pricing, if they ever do..
If they did $5 a MONTH subscription type of thing I'd be more inclined to purchase it, but at $5 a week, I'll pass..
The best example of this is Men's Health, which is $5 an issue in the app store, but from within the app itself you can actually purchase a printed subscription for $1.49 per month. What a joke.
And yes, I get it, there are costs to getting this content online and they may be comparable to the cost of printing/delivering/etc the printed versions. But come on, enough to justify three times the price? I want this mostly because it's a way of consuming media that doesn't involved printing paper and shipping it around the world. It's a shame that, yet again, an exciting new green technology is introduced and sold at an absolute premium to maximum revenue.
Same with WSJ. It's 3.99 per week via Ipad app vs 1.99 regular online price?
Really? That much of a premium price to cover the cost?![]()
It used to be free, of course, on an iPhone until relatively recently. I've been paying $12.99/month for an online subscription, and I was certain that they would offer a discounted plan on iPad for their readers who access it either online or through a print. No such luck. When they announced that I would have to pay additional $17.99/month for a privilege of access to their content solely for an iPad, I thought about it for a while, and then I pulled the trigger. It seems that Mr. Murdoch's greed knows no limits. I will happily pay for a good journalism, but I certainly won't pay this much to access the same content though another device. So for now, good bye WSJ.
I think lowering the cost of the apps and increasing advertisements is fine with me. I mean don't make it annoying. Just add an additional page.
All i know is, if people at TIME magazine thinks people will really spend 5 dollars on a online magazine PER issue, I don't know what they are smoking.
how much is a yearly subscription? Oh i get their strategy, they gimp the new tech and make us go old tech (aka buy the hardcopy).
Well played TIME....Well Played.

I still don't understand why they don't use in-app purchase.

With the newest App you can It's free to download and you can purchase additional magazines from the "buy" tab at the bottom of the App in the pop up menu.
That's why I originally asked if yearly subscriptions would be offered from this method or would they release another App causing what we currently have to be separate and standalone.
I don't want to have numerous magazines from numerous "Time" Apps.
Hope that makes sense? Time magazine is confusing to begin with I guess.
