Come on Yummly, your recipes are great, but that icon not so much.

Hey, Walmart! Fix your app icon for iOS 18.

OK, Photo Lab Pro, you do all the cool stuff with photos. But ignore your app icon.

It’s weird. I just got my 16 Pro Max and on there it is dark, but not on my old 11 Pro… And weirdly on my 11 Pro, the Pages and Keynote apps are dark, but not on my 16 Pro Max
They're all dark for me on all my devices. Did you check for updates? Try restarting and/or toggling dark icons off and on.

Developers are being lazy on this one.
iOS 18 has really a few changes that they should implement and they aren't even doing an icon.
Also, one good thing is that maybe we will be stopping seeing all-white icons in the future.

My shame-list:
23&Me
PayPal
TurboScan
MaxVault
Expenses
OralB
Agro Measure Map
Aqara
Schwab
Yahoo Mail
Money Pro

Microsoft Office apps now do

AdGuard Pro
AdGuard VPN
Brave
EE
Flight Radar
Google Authenticator
Telegram

Don’t

My personal shame list from Switzerland with country-specific apps:

- Bring!
- MeteoSwiss
- Local.ch
- Swiss Post
- Rega
- TCS
- Postcard Creator

There are several more but these are my main eye sores.

My question is: can Apple force them to build a black icon or do we have to live with workarounds like shortcuts for the next years? I´m throwing apps without a black icon off my homescreen.
Out of sight, out of mind. Not good for the developers.

I use a password app that still doesn't have a dark icon. A couple weeks ago I wrote an App Store review for this app and at the end I included a feature request to hopefully prompt the developer to include a dark mode icon in the next update. Yesterday I received an email letting me know that the developer has responded, they said the next update would include a dark mode icon. My point is, if you want a dark mode icon you can always send a polite request to the developer.. some developers actually listen to the users.

All of the Yahoo apps, tons of updates but no dark icons in sight.

Also Apples Clips app is still hospital white.

I have done that with some small devs, but I was thinking more of the big ones like Amazon, Sixt etc.

Apple - Apple Store*, Clips & TestFlight - Apple Store is Dark on iPhone but not on iPad
Google - Most of there apps aren’t or like with the Apple Store app are on iPhone but not on iPad

It baffles me that the company that introduced the feature isn’t adopting it.

The last remaining ones for me:

Amazon
Capital One UK
PayPal
Metro Bank UK
Apple Music for Artists
ITVX
Virgin TV Go

Get the feeling none of them will ever bother, though. Maybe Apple should make it mandatory when pushing any app updates.

Walmart
McDonald's
Pizza Hut
Centerwell Pharmacy
Eraser
Heat Index
Widgetize
TeraBox
Xfinity Stream
Disney+
TapaTalk
FedEx
Lively

I really really wish Snapchat would please please give up the money grab and give us a dark mode icon!!

Shame list:

- Amazon
- CIBC (my bank)
- Bell (cell provider)
- Letterboxd (always been dark, but it doesn’t match the others)
- PokemonTCGP
- McDonald’s
- Wendy’s
- Scoreholio (cornhole scoring app)
- PlayStation
- Canva
- Square
- Purify
- Celebrity Cruises

Amazon, CIBC, and Letterboxd are the only 3 that really frustrate me because they’re actually on my Home Screen and not buried in folders or my App Library

Tapatalk, Greater Anglia (train compan) and TFL Oyster (London transport ticketing) stand out to me!

I think TfL have given up on the app. Their focus is more on contactless payment cards over Oyster now so it makes sense and I guess people track their spending in their respective banking apps anyway. The app is only around just to fill the gap for those who still need/use it! It had so much potential.
