Neither of my kids ever use my iPad Pro 9.7" and don't want to. My daughter uses her iPod and my son prefers my wife's 5s. They have no desire to use it and I have no desire to allow them. Not sure why OP would allow their child to use the iPad they use for work. Good luck finding it though...

Keep trying the find my phone thing.

If I found it I would plug it in and return it to the owner if I could track them down. Not sure if the app offers this but iCloud.com has a "lost mode" where you can enter a custom message so a good samaritan can contact you.

I'm sure I'm not the only person that would do that.

I wouldn't expect it but a reward wouldn't hurt. :)

The reason why is because I guess Im a nice parent, not saying youre not of course. My iPad is connected to the net via cellular so I dont mind him using it. Its a tangible item. It can be replaced, as its being now. Does it stink? yep. Have we all learned a lesson? Yep. Am I going to let it ruin the relationship with my kid? Never. Mistakes happen. Learn from them and let them go. Once we do that, it becomes the past. Dwelling on it will only make it continue to be my future.

Good luck. Homeowners insurance covered my loss. If you have insurance you may be covered.

I just saw this post just now! I didnt think of this at all!!!! Id assume Ill need to do a police report and all that good stuff but I might as well try! I have UPC out of Florida for my homes insurance. Pretty good company. They started servicing RI after Super Storm Sandy as they are hurricane specialists. LOL.

Well, just as the title states, looks like I lost my iPad Air 2, which was carriered via Sprint. It absolutely sucks.

I was at a store around 5:30pm last night, and my son was using it in the backseat. Nothing out of the norm. It was at about 30% charged. We went in the store, car was locked. We came out, he stated he used the iPad on the way home, and then brought it in the house. He is 6 so be gentle! HAHA. I noticed around 8:30pm it was missing.

In any case, Find My iPhone has it as listed as OFFLINE, and shows nothing for a last known spot. I guess I didnt have the feature active on the iPad, but if it was a default thing, it was definitely on. Looks like I am screwed there. I obviously though perhaps it was stolen, but its password protected, as well as fingerprinted, and its been offline since I checked at 8:30pm over 24 hours ago. Some moron would have tried to check it out by now Id assume.

So, we tore up the house, the car, everything we could think of. Called the store, went to the store and looked around. Nothing... (insert 4 letter word here of your choosing).

Looks like I either be picking up a new iPad 9.7 or 9.7 Pro. I guess Ill go for the Pro seeing I am in the market for one again. UGH. I had just paid Sprint off too. BLAH!!!

As a father myself I feel for you. It sounds like you are taking it well. My kids accidentally destroyed or lost several of my things over the years.

I live in a small tourist town in Rhode Island, so its definitely a possibility! Ya never know though! I am for sure leaving in the Find My iPhone. I ave a feeling its in my house, battery dead, and hidden somewhere oddly.

If you don't mind me asking, what town do you live in? I lived in Newport and loved it!

Sorry about your loss. If I was you I would wait to see what wwdc brings there's suppose to be some new iPads coming out. And if you don't want the newest and greatest I would still wait cause it will probably drop the price on the older ones.

Thats exactly why I am not buying a new iPad or iPad Pro. I did order an iPad Mini 4 Silver 128GB though via Sprint. Reason being, it was zero down, $200 off over a 24 month "finance" at zero % financing charge. Costs me $13.75/mo. I love having an iPad so I couldnt turn it down.

Once the newest iPad comes out, Ill get a stand for the iPad Mini 4 and use it as a POS terminal in my office. Either that or hand it down to the kids.

Smart move. I would at least wait until after the developers conference next week. If they do launch a new iPad, then there would likely be price reductions on the previous models that are in existence. At least that's what I'm hoping for, as I want to purchase another iPad.

Was hoping this would end happily, with you finding it.

There is only so much looking you can do at this point though. Although, depending on what car you have, I often times find that the area between the front seats and center column tends to be a place many things go missing and are usually found by the guys washing my car at the car wash.

All the best :)

This. Our iPads like to hide in the sofa cushions. :)

This is why I never disable LTE on my iPads and iPhones. With WiFi-only, it drops internet every once in a while for power savings.

I have thought about leaving LTE on on my iPP but I am concerned about eating up some of data while it is not in use. So I leave wifi on anyway.
