I decided to not get an Air in the meantime, and bought a refurb Dell netbook for £168 to tide me over until the Air is upgraded. I'd also be happy if they upgraded it to 4GB.

I never liked the netbook idea. I did get a MSI Wind a while ago, but it didn't really work out for me.
I did however want a Sony P-series; love the screen resolution. It's not really a netbook; too bad it's more expensive then I want to pay and it's a VAIO
