Apparently, not everybody shares your optimism about the Mac's resistance to viruses. Even Apple Stores stock these:

They were talking about anit-virus software for mobile devices. What does pasting pictures of Mac software prove? Do you have links to iPhone anti-virus programs? Because that would be relevant.
 
Comprehensive guidelines? Comprehensive policies? What part of THAT is a ripoff of Apple's kafkaesque app approval nightmare, again?

So Microsoft didn't copy the bad things developers care about, they only copied the bad things consumers care about.

The important word here is "plans." No plan ever unfolds the way you expect. I would be shocked if one year after this is rolled out, the MS Marketplace thing doesn't mirror Apple's App store more closely.

They have not yet tried this. They have not yet seen what unhindered developer access can do to the stability of a system. Oh wait they have ... it's called Windows.
