Very nice, I hope that this iMac will last you and be happy for a long time. If you have no time or want to bother with installations etc you did what you should have done.

Thanks! :)

Are you using Lr for RAW?

No, Capture One 20.x, but I still wish Apple had continued Aperture. Capture One ist really good at RAW developing, but the DAM part lacks compared to Aperture

Speaking of purchasing a 2020 iMac -- when you place an order, does Apple charge your credit card immediately, or only when it actually ships?

I payed with Apple Pay in the Apple Store App and got an immediate notification that the amount was charged to my card.

BTW: Today I checked the Apple Store App und the delivery date (pickup at a nearby store) changed from the 15th to the 7th of September :)

The tradeoff in sharpness was too drastic for me, please see some additional thoughts of mine and others (including comparison photos) in this thread:

what do you plan to use your IMac for? Also, have you exclusively worked on glossy displays in the past?

I use it for graphical work (basically the whole Adobe suite) that eventually lives either digitally or in print and I do have quite a bit of glare where the computer is set up (directly across from two large windows). I've used various matte displays in the past because I used to do video work so I've used various Apple Cinema Displays and other "you only see these on a film set" screens with varying degrees of matte-ness. But, in the past many years I've only used glossy screens.
