Going down to the Apple Store today to pick up a 20" iMac. It will be our first mac. We'll be taking advantage of the education deal that gives us (in actuality me) a free iPod touch. Another bonus is that it's a tax free holiday here in Georgia so I won't pay sales tax on the iMac. We're getting the 2.66 model.

This forum has been an outstanding resource for my research so thanks to the community as a whole!

Regards,

Jason

Congratulations. I have an imac and its simply beautiful and the os works seamlessly with the rest of the hardware! No regrets at all.

Congratulations!!! I also have a 20" imac and I just love it. I don't think it has the specs that yours has but I don't regret it for a minute. Everyone I know I talk to them about the macs and I have only converted my husband and my daughter over to them. Everyone else just doesn't get it.;)
Have fun and enjoy.
I came up here before I bought mine and everyone was and still are wonderful in offering help. Best place to be on the internet.:D

Congrats!

I really hope you like it! Take advantage of those great deals!

My Dad's friend bought an iMac a month ago and she is in love with it.

I can't wait till the day I post to get my first Mac, which will be a MacBook Air. :)

Congrats!

I had hoped to be able to take care of the educational deal - but didn't happen.

My refurbed mini is showing today as it's arrival date - but it hasnt' scanned into FL yet (and i'm pretty sure it's wrong anyway).

Enjoy!!!!!

Picked everything up! Thrilled with the deal too. Got the 20" 2.66 iMac, 8GB iPod Touch, and an HP printer for a hair under $1400 after rebates.

Installing the updates right now, can't wait to get this baby home!

Congratulations... You'll love it.

I'm actually thinking about picking up a 24" iMac this weekend. North Carolina has a tax free weekend for back-to-school sales and computers are included. :D

Check and see if they have a dollar limit amount. Ours was $1500, hence the 20".

why do everyone else's states have free tax days.....illinois sucks ass.

no tax free day in MD

to the OP:

Congrats on the iMac i love mine (see signature)

i would suggest:
~My Book Studio external HDD (aluminum with white light match perfectly)
~apple remote ("Front Row" is amazing)
~A good set of headphones (the audio though a good pair is amazing on this thing)

Congrats!

I am not a fan of iMacs but I just got my girlfriend an eMac on the cheap (didn't cost me a dime) and she LOVES it. :D

We lived in Rockville, MD for 10 years before moving to NC in 2005 and MD had a tax free weekend for back-to-schools sales at least until 2005. You should check again.

Well 2 minutes of Google Searching, I found this site for Tax free holidays for the US... All 50 states

I too wish Canada had a tax free day!

Anyways I have the exact same spec 20" iMac and it is also my first Mac. I love it and I'm sure you will love yours too!

Congrats on the purchase(s)!
