Very. Too bad I already played the campaign to 100% completion. Still, Feral should have a solid foundation upon which to build the product as the PC port of this game is one of the better ones out there.

I'm looking forward to it. I've always wanted the game, but didn't want to boot into Windows to play it. I'll wait for Feral's Mac version.

This is a nice game, I finished it on PS3 already though... I think it's graphically a very demanding game. I wouldn't dare play it on anything but the latest Macs.

It plays great on most Mac's from 2010 onwards, some of the earlier Mac's before this will also likely make the spec. However for maximum settings a newer Mac is better :)

Would anyone be interested in doing some beta testing on the title. I might have a few beta slots open for Tomb Raider fans who have the time to play the game and give us some final feedback...

email - REMOVED with your full name, computer specifications and I will see if we can get some people beta access :)

[EDIT] NO MORE SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW I WILL POST IF WE NEED MORE PEOPLE THANKS [EDIT]

Do you have extra chances if you write an email to that address that starts with "...it's a space station!"

I had no problems running the PC port on my late-2011 MBP. I played it at 768p resolution and most details set at high. It was surprisingly smooth. The engine seems to scale rather well, which should hopefully help with the Mac port.

While we're on settings and all... What about tessalation, is that intact? Never got to test that on my PC rig...

HW tessellation will not be available for launch on the Mac.

I've seen a few comparative screenshot of the PC version with and without tessellation. The difference is barely noticeable, nothing to compare with Unigine Heaven, which uses tessellation outrageously.
Not a big loss IMO.

From what I've seen, it's mostly the hair that benifits from it. Not even sure i liked it...

Heaven benchmark is totaly diffrent story, everything gains more depth

Seconded!

The hair actually uses a special AMD extension called TressFX, AMD confirmed this doesn't exist on the Mac when we contacted them. The tessellation effects don't really effect the hair AFAIK.

Here is an example of what TressFX can do. As always if the technology is released on the Mac we will look to support it, however right now AMD don't have any plans for support on Mac (or Linux) just Windows.

I just confused the Tress part of "TressFX" with tessalation... Still not sure if i liked the way the hair behaved though. But thats just an opinnion, tech aside

Will it be free for people who have it on Steam X86?

What's Steam x86? FYI x86 is an instruction set that Mac's, Linux Boxes, SteamBoxes and PC's use :)

If you mean will the title be SteamPlay then Yes that's the plan. :) But buying it once the Mac version is released will mean us Mac developers will get some revenue so if you primarily want the Mac version waiting until the Mac version is available on Steam would be really nice.

I understand however if you couldn't wait as the game is pretty awesome. ;)

I never buy the windows version with the hope of a Mac client anymore. Not after the whole Torchlight 2 affair.

I'll certainly buy the new Tomb Raider for Mac as soon as it's available. ( To support the Devs )
I've only read, and heard good things about the game.

I am glad it will be Steamplay but not to worry. I will wait to buy it until the Mac release comes out because I loves you guys at Feral. :D
