Graphics and environment are excellent in this game... Overall enjoyable update of the TR franchise. One thing annoys me and I hate having to repeat a sequence over and over until I figure out what has to be done. It does not happen for every fight, but when it does happen, it tends to take the immersion out of it. For those who have played this game, I'm thinking of the wolf's den which took my about ten tries to kill that damn wolf. ADADADFEEEEFFFF or something like that. ;) The game throws up key hints, but sometimes it's what's that- "E", too late I'm dead, lol. It's a great feeling when you can get through a fight on one attempt. This game has no save slots, it just auto saves to recent progress.

finally finished the game the other night. was stuck for ages on the last battle. fantastic game, best graphics ive seen on my mac, story okay was similar to far cry 3 but good nonetheless, and i liked the variety between the free moving bits and the more tightly controlled fighting scenes.

cant say im of a mind to go back and finish all the wee bits to get 100%, i was still under 70% but really enjoyed the game.

Far Cry is a lot more free roaming, but honestly I'm enjoying this more.

Laura Croft responds to my nimble fingers ;) and is one bad ass with her bow and her climbing axe. It pains me greatly when she gets a pole through her head or impaled on a tree limb.

In real life she'd be dead, dead (with the polr though her head), from under the chin out through the top of her head, but they have the poor girl struggling before she expires. Who ever thought this up had sadist qualities, lol. It's kind of shocking to see, I still had to chuckle the first time I saw it, and I knew I'd get a chance to redeem myself. :p For those who have not played, this happens in the "fast action" sequences, where she is going down rapids, skidding down a mountain dodging a C130, or para-sailing through the forest, when you have no say in the matter but to avoid obstacles or get skewered. :D

Cant recommend the game enough.
While maybe not a great first game to get into, as its pretty violent and combat could be a challenge if you have never played a game before, Ive had people come up to me in their 50-60s and said they have stopped watching TV, because of this game :p

i enjoyed it a lot more than far cry 3, and i enjoyed that immensely. funnily in both games though, the minute i had finished the main game i was done, couldnt be bothered going back and finding everything.

i just thought the stories were very similar, far more than the game play.
stuck on an island check
friends stuck there and you meet up with them check
finding artifacts from japanese who were on the island many years ago check
bit of voodoo weirdness check
deciding to stay there check

I might repeat it, but I could care less about gathering all of the artifacts too. It's not the kind of challenge I care about as long as I can function within the game satisfactorily. Wait a minute, is that a spoiler, damn you?? :p

It's officially unsupported but you can play all the way through, you might experience some very low frame rates (low enough that we don't want to officially support the card) in some of the complex areas like Shanty town as the Nvidia 300 series driver has some bugs/lower performance compared to some other cards.
