The usual pricing for TomTom on smartphones is over US$100.

However, I think one of the reasons Apple announced the addition of monthly subscriptions to the App Store, is for programs like this:

Who would pay $100+ outright? Few. But how many more would sign up for a $5-10 monthly fee, especially if presented as say, $1.99 a week.

where does this gps fee idea come from? My family has probably owned about 10 different GPS devices from all different brands and I've never heard of a monthly fee.....

Am I the only person who thinks Tom Tom will charge $100 or more for this product?

I drive all the time. I would be willing to shell out $100 for this. Hopefully, it will be cheaper.

I can't wait either. I have been begging for this. I hope that the maps are loaded into the program.

That would kill it for me. I can buy their 4.3" units with TTS for $100 if you take the time to find a sale. Seriously, I'd be unhappy with that price tag. I'm betting it'll cost $60.

Text to Speech

Do you think the app will have text to speech for the street names? In the demo, the voice says to go straight and bear right, it doesn't actually say the name of any road. I have an older built-in nav system in my car which does not say the road names, and it is quite annoying that it will not.
