I also like the title of this thread. A little tongue-in-cheek. Go with the 20". It would be a lot more expensive to upgrade the monitor later.

This thread is so unexpectedly awesome.

Completely agree- stumbled into a beautiful thread- better than the poetry reading I was inflicted with last night , and much funnier.

too many other posts to reinforce... I'm shopping for the same machine (20 inch - and I will never describe a monitor size without thinking of this thread...) and am NOT getting the extra RAM from Apple - It's absolutely ridiculous what they charge! But - it appears to be an awesome machine!

Good luck tonight- I hope it's real special ! :D

Why stay tied down to one woman? (I mean CPU)

Get an ACD 20" and get one of these new souped up mac minis...

Unless you need the G5 specs and HD...

My 1.5 Ghz powerbook gives me the same performance as my 1.8ghz G5 iMac (that I recently sold to get a new Mac mini - when it comes out.)

This way when she gets old, you can get a younger, sexier, faster model.

get that and max the ram out and sell the 512 stick for like 40 bucks, apple ram is way too expencive.
Yeah right. Put these in, break the motherboard of the brand new iMac G5.

This is PC Generic RAM with heat spreaders, not only is it not guaranteed to be Mac compatible (and the iMac G5 is the most finicky G5 in existence) but installing RAM with heat spreaders will break the memory sockets and void the warranty. Brilliant advice for a newbie member. :(

bobert, please, choose your RAM from a reputable seller who tests and guarantees compatibility with the iMac G5, has a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost return if it doesn't work.

In the USA I recommend Data Memory Systems - for $30 more than the discounter RAM you'll get real, guaranteed RAM for your Mac.
