yo.. what is th best torrent client for mpb intel? tomato works gr8 on a pbk but is not a intel app.. is zudeo [azureus ??] any good?
azureus? blech. Try Transmission.
Ive always used Azureus, but it works fine for me. Always get good download speeds and it has never crashed or froze on me.
I'd use Transmission or any other non-Java client, but I can't seem to find one that lets me selectively download files, which is a major selling point for me, as well as scheduling.
Are there any native clients out there that do this?
Hopefully you Transmission users are using 0.7.
Secondly, I find that the memory footprint is about the same with Azureus once you hit a torrent over 1 GB.
Well I didn't think it was that hard...
I've never had the "beta" version crash at all what so ever. I find it GREATLY superior to the current 0.61 release and I'm boggled as to why it hasn't been released. You never mentioned it was in the beta stage, dispite the confusing 0. version numbers which implies it's all beta.
There site highly suggests the latest free availble version is 0.61 - if the home page suggests that, why would you go digging for more. I saw the change log and it took me to a site which didn't mean anything to me.
If I could find it, do you think I would have asked? Don't have to be an ass about it!
Actually you do need to fiddle with ports. I believe that uPnP alleviates that somewhat in 0.7. Otherwise your ports are blocked by NAT and the OS X firewall.I just started using Transmission and its sooooo much better than Azureus. I just installed and started torrenting without needing to fiddle with ports. Its also fast.
Hopefully you Transmission users are using 0.7.

same here
Azureus is best for the featureset, especially if you are on any private trackers.
