Hey guys, I tried the appstore app and I must say it's a pretty cool and useful keyboard.
Now I'm trying to modify the cydia tweak (using the appstore files) to handle other languages.
Did anyone else tried that?

It was kinda easy to change the layout from qwerty to azerty.
But now I'm trying to change the dictionnary (.ram and .rom files) but the tweak crashes with French.ram

EDIT: Replacing the original cydia "english_cn.ram" with the one from the appstore app fails too.
I edited the file header to match with the original but there must me something wrong with the other part of the file which looks like binary or compressed data.
w_cn.ram s=5.003 d=20130130

Are you talking about the keyboard layout or the way it works?

The layout is very different. And it works differently too. It seems much more like iOS in the app, with proper capitalization, a double tap period+space function that actually works, and a punctuation page that is laid out much like iOS. The cydia tweak is weird or bad on every one of these.

the strange thing is that the cydia app was last updated in Feb 2013 while the ios app was last updated in Dec 2012. but the ios app has more features and imo the better word recognition.

i can see using the ios app as my default kb but with no way of making it permanent like the cydia one, i just went back to the standard kb.

the cydia one is just not in the same league.

I am trying this app now myself. It works pretty well but I would really like to see auto capitalization and double space to add a period. Does anyone know the cydia developer and know if he has plans to update? I would gladly purchase this app if it had those features and worked as well as the iTunes app.

i tried it and not really sure what's changed but auto space and cap is still not there. not sure if it's a setting that i did not enable but i followed the previous translation and not much has changed there.

hopefully someone can translate and see if the settings are there. just wished they updated and gave us the app store one.

the app is updated as of 04/19/2013 now compared to the app store's from dec 2012.

They even have the text to speech icon. When I use it it translates everything in Chinese. They've also added different themes.

DONT upgrade.. It's super bug ridden now. This used to be my favorite tweak because I am so much faster swyping but now its almost useless..

1) It will randomly delete words you already typed
2) It will add the last word from a previous sentence to the first word of the new line, so you have to delete it all and restart.

Yep, this tweak is bugged badly now. I have done everything I can to fix it but on messaging apps after you send a message the next will either add the last word you typed before from the previous message on the new message or delete the first word you Swype. Do not upgrade.

I don't no if anyone can help me but I have installed both touchpal from AppStore first then from cydia... Now I can add keyboards one called touchpal or one call touchpaleng but there is no touchpal (English) one... I have noticed the app has been updated though since all the installation methods have been shown.
my problem I'm having is I'm unable to use the swype feature in normal apps, I can get the keyboard to show up but it won't allow me to swype on the keyboard, and there is no little A symbol to turn swype on... The settings page is slightly different then the translated on. Does anyone have any ideas?

what everyone's beef is but this update is incredible. Yes there still is no auto capitalization but the prediction is better, it now works better with mail and is actually faster than before. Would definitely recommend upgrading

For standard email composing, yes it works. Have you tried it in imessage or a messenger app? If so, is it working fine for you? Because since the update mine has been nothing but buggy.

Bite SMS works fine. I will say, it has Chrome has started to crash more frequently when I go to type in a text box on the internet though.

This is the best Swype equivalent JB solution out there is that right?

And has anyone completely ruled out it not sending keystrokes to a remote server?

I want to try it , but also hope it doesn't have compatibility issues with Color Keyboard or Winterboard.

I've just installed this and trying it out - taking a bit of getting used to but I think the predictive text is very good.
Thx very much for the screenshots Macattosh1234, it seems to have changed a little since then - the current Cydia version is 3.2.38509-1, is that what others are seeing now too?
Whereabouts does it say the date (19th April) that the version was last updated, I can't see that?

that is the current cydia version.

to get the version info go to the settings and it's very last option that shows 2 chinese words and an arrow. the version shown here is 3.2.38506 which is lower than what cydia shows.

made an account just so I could offer some help...

For those complaining about the last word appearing as the first word on a new line-- I was having this same issue and finally figured out the cause. It is because the app wants you to confirm the last word on the line. If you press 'space' when the last word is highlighted, you won't get the word on the next line. This seems to be a function of the app throughout. If you're ever having an issue moving your cursor to somewhere earlier in your text, it is because there's a word highlighted. Simply press 'space' to confirm that word and then the app behaves much better.

I admit that this is an annoying bug but at least now you have the workaround.

+1000 vote for Auto Capitalize feature!

Also, the new version has an extra option in the settings a few lines from the top with the word 'wifi' in it. Can anyone translate the submenu of this new option?
