I am right now trying to decide should I get an iPhone 14 Plus or an iPhone 15 Plus, both in 512 GB local storage versions. Besides being more expensive, what's the real advantage in real-world usage of the iPhone 15 Plus over the iPhone 14 Plus?

Basically, if you want to save $100 and don't care about outdoor display brightness, camera quality, battery life, or charging interface, choose the 14 Plus.

The 14 is essentially a carryover model from 13 with the addition of satellite SOS.

The camera, if this is important for you.

Personally I would of gone with 15 since the price isn't that big of difference. I'm just confused what you're trying to accomplish with a thread like this? You also seem slightly defensive when people suggest 15 over 14.

By the way, I'm leaning towards getting an iPhone 15 Plus 512 GB. Reason: I already have the USB-C chargers and also a USB-A to USB Type C charging cable, too.

Yes, and according to PhoneArena, the web browsing battery life of the 14 is nearly 2 hours longer than the 15, 15:23 vs 13:25. Fits my main use case well.

Depends on who you trust.

I trust the PhoneArena numbers which reflect the 14 lower idle and load power consumption numbers reported by NotebookCheck. As usual “Your results may vary”.
