I think people are missing the fact that this stuff appears to be graphite like dust. It gets gooey when finger moisture touches it. I can get a bunch of it right under the top bezel by display. Could be aluminum touching aluminum causing, but I don't believe it myself. Mine isn't scratching anything... it's just dust that looks like a scratch. Completely dry until touched.
Strange, as mine is most certainly just scratches. I touched, I rubbed, I caressed and it's the same.

Oh, I do believe there are scratches too.

It's just the black dust doesn't appear to be the scratch itself to me. It may be that the dust just collects up in the bezel and it really is the scratching causing it. But I prefer to believe otherwise with how much of that black graphite like dust has come from under my bezel.
