Thanks! I was looking into a couple along with Whistler, as its only 2 odd hours from Vancouver.

Also Chundles did you go through a program for job positions before you went over, or did you just find one whilst you were there?

Hell make sure you come down to the Gold Coast (1hr south of Brissy)!

Whistler is essentially run by Aussies at this point. So, if you're looking for a change of environment, don't work at Whistler cuz you'll feel like you never left Aus.

I hear Whistler is hurting for workers this season. Most folks go there, squeeze as many people into an apt as possible, ski/board for free, work and get wasted.

if that sounds appropriate, by all means come on over.

Replace Whistler with "ski resorts in north america" and all your statements are true. On more than one occasion I'd find myself out at the pub and realize I was the only Canadian with our group, and this is in my home country!

Hey guys, your replies are much appreciated!

Probably best to just rock up there and look for a job.

neonfox: there would be quite alot of share houses around camperdown
since its near the uni, it would be quite a bit cheaper than renting a place
on your own. take a look at this site.

If the card for the 3/4 slot is for the net, i probably wouldnt bother,
most houses/apartments and the uni should have internet access avaliable.
Theres NextG that does wireless broadband, but check out the uni first.

Also just pick up cheap mobile phone (cell phone) from any local dealer and
buy a pre paid card (obviously pay as you go). Or you may be able to use
you phone if its unlocked.
