Yes never mind, I was pretty irritated because I spent some time posting a response to this thread myself before realizing it's an old thread. I apologize for the rude tone.

In any case, this is not the first time this has happened, and I've created some feedback here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/limit-new-posts-on-year-old-or-more-threads.2079491/. However, and this will be helpful to prevent newbies from making this mistake again: how did you find this thread? Most people won't have seen it because it would have been buried many pages deep when browsing the forum.

Seems like he probably just did a search for Samsung or Galaxy Note or something to that effect. That would've probably brought it up in search results.

I am truly sorry for causing this confusion. I have only just joined this community and the last thing I want to do is cause any problems. I did a search and came up with this thread? Again its my fault I should have looked at the date.

Problem is Samsung in its wisdom have two devices name the Note 8, one is a mobile phone the other is a tablet hence this confusion but again I am aware of that so should have been more attentive.

The curse of the newbie.

Thank you for the welcome. Be careful what you wish for! I am finding IOS a very steep learning curve and already have many questions. Newbies must be a pain in the neck. No doubt every question I have will have been asked and answered ad nauseam.
This is also a complex forum to work around! I have yet to find the thread dedicated to the iPhone SE? Slowly slowly catchee monkey eh
