I think True Tone is great, and a natural evolution of display technology. Every time I turn it off the level of blue light increases significantly and it’s ugly and jarring. It’s sort of like… would you put 3000K lights or 5000K lights in your bedroom? Most would prefer 3000K and so do I.

Can’t stand it. I find it too often makes the palette overly warm. If you’re just staring at the screen, you adapt to it but if you’re looking back and forth (particularly if there’s a tv on), it’s very distracting.

Since the very first iPad that supported it (9.7" iPad Pro), I've been using it all the time. Until recently.

Recently, I've switched it off on my 2020 iPad Pro. It's a relief. Colors are so much more accurate.

For my eyes, I still use night shift during the night hours.

Can we know how did you achieve it using color filters?

You can mess with the hue and intensity until you find what you like.

It does lower brightness just a little bit but it doesn't bother me.

Thanks. This is great finding. Can you please confirm which values of hue and intensity worked for you?

I keep it turned on all the time. I mostly browser the web and read long PDFs and True Tone really reduces the eye strain in my case, so there's no reason to turn it off ever.

Off. I like my snow, teeth, etc. to look white and not piss yellow.

I really hate true tone on the iPhone 12 Pro Max as it just makes the screen look like urine yellow, but for some reason true tone on my 12.9 2021 iPad it looks great with really nice whites.

On the iPad I generally prefer it on. I do feel that there are times where it is too aggressive though.

I do not use it on the iPhone. For some reason I just prefer that display as it is.

I'll sometimes turn it off and forget to turn it back on. I try and keep it on as much as I can though.

I keep it on but have night shift off. It depends on your screen. I have had iPads with very yellow screens and true tone made it look worse(returned those iPads). If you get a good iPad with a good screen True Tone makes it look better.

I have it turned on for my MacBook I believe. I just left it on when I first set it up and it looks fine on there. I’ve had it on for the longest time on 12PM but turned it off today and now I’m really leaning toward how my display looks with it off. I like the cooler temperature. My iPad doesn’t have the feature.
