As someone else stated, he's more of an iPhone guy. I'm actually surprised he's used an S5 for as long as he has. :p

I'll probably go back to the S5 when L drops if it comes before the S6, otherwise S6 in April or May.

The rumored use of nano sim cards will make switching easier than it is now, where it's just simpler to use either Galaxy or iPhone for longer periods.

----------

Lol and you are amazed by an IPhone 6 plus and blown away...just not possible ....nothing amazing or wowing there......;).........

If there was nothing to the 6+, Samsung wouldn't feel compelled to launch the Note 4 earlier.

An executive from Samsung's marketing unit apparently quoted that the overwhelming customers' response to Apple iPhone 6 models motivated Samsung to release the Galaxy Note 4 prior to the actual schedule.

Clearly Samsung thinks the iPhone 6+ has some merits.

Lol not launching early in the U.S

But it is launching early to try and preempt the 6+. Why do that if the 6+ is so lowly and does nothing?

note 4 trumps Iphone 6 plus in all areas....

Then why do you care what someone else thinks and prefers?

Shouldn't you be reveling from a position of authority and certainty in the Note 4's so-called superiority?

The Note 4, just like every Note before it occupies the "Meh" zone to me, and the so-called "advancements" in design and screen just don't sway me.

Went to Best Buy, played on it, and walked away unimpressed.

I find it odd that you do nothing but cater yourself to the IPhone and you have a S5, I cannot stand envious people...go enjoy Ya 6 plus

Why do we spend so much time on someone's opinion? (myself included as guilty). If the guy doesn't like the N4, then he doesn't like it. If he finds the technology on the ip6 more advanced for his needs, then it's more advanced. Why do we all care in the least?

All I know is I'm first in line for the N4, for my needs it's clearly superior and an incredible phone, I was wowed when checking it out at BB the other day. But by the same token, who cares what phone I'm getting?

BTW anyone know how BB applies the $200 credit for the Next program? Do you simply get a $200 gift card?

Gift card, which you can use to apply toward taxes on the Next Purchase. AT&T is all or nothing, which sucks, I wish I could pay as much as I wanted down, and have it reduce monthly installment cost.

Yeah that's exactly what I was hoping for. I wonder if you can apply the gift card to the phone if you buy it full price? $41/month for 12 months = $492 versus $799-$200=$599-$350 assumed value of ebay in 12 months = $249. Buying it full price seems like a better deal.

I have a Mac and an older PC. Sometimes kies stops the fresh install process in the middle in one of them, sometimes the codes just don't work (the S/N and the model number) despite being correct, it is very slow and clumsy and once you use other apps and services besides Samsung (it always happens), it is totally useless, while making Android File Transfer impossible to use (at least on a mac, you can only use AFT or Kies, not both).

Even if you go all in with Samsung's built in apps, kies can't detect and use your current music library, your photos, etc. It has to duplicate them all and copy them to a Samsung folder.

So if you have 20 GB of Music, you will need 40 GB of space, and so on.
Hmm. I didn't have any experience like that. Besides, Samsung updated Kies 3 now, and it's very good and fast.

I wish more people saw things this way. Everyone has different needs and preferences. Some of us even like both IOS and Android. But to each his own......

Anyone play with the Gear VR? Not all stores have it but one of the employees did confirm that the Schaumburg Illinois store has a demo set up. It's the primary reason why I wanted to upgrade from the Note 3 to the 4.

I think that the newer version is only for phones after the note 2, right? I have the other.

The only thing that you and I can agree on is that kies is a pile of crap. Probably one of the worst pieces of software that I've ever had the misfortune of using.

Nice, is that a Samsung store? I'd LOVE to see a VR in action. I can't wait to mess around with it and I'll be first in line for a gear VR. I'm hoping the BB's get displays also.

Oh it's REAL bad on a Mac. I don't know about PC, but I've used it 4 times in 2 years and each time was a complete ass end experience.

That would be interesting, especially with Oculus supposedly supplying the underlying technology.

I use it on Windows too, when it doesn't work on my Mac. It turns out, it is even worse there.

On Windows, you install the program and even get two icons on your desktop: Kies and Kies lite.

The one that is recommended by Samsung? It's obvious, isn't it? Kies Lite. /s
Same program, same UI, both suck.

People that say that iTunes sucks should be forced to use Kies, AFT and PC Companion more often. :)

This was at a Samsung store in Best Buy. But all are not equal; 3 has the Note 4, 1 has the Edge and none I went to has Gear VR. I really don't want to travel out the way.

Really? I totally agree with you back in 2012... it was terrible! However now it works really well and hasn't given me nearly any problems like the older version back in the Note II days.

I've not used it since 2012 with my original galaxy note.

I've been using it lately for my Note 2, hasn't given me any trouble. *shrug*

I remember testing Kies syncing out on a S3, it worked, but it was seriously slow to sync everything, especially app data. Maybe things got better?

My main use for Kies was always emergency firmware recovery back then. I not into loading custom roms anymore so I had no need for it in awhile.
