Maybe next year when they actually offer more bang for the buck and lower the prices.
Bang for the buck, yes. Lower prices?
This is Apple we are talking about.

If you are asking strangers for justification, then perhaps you should save your money. On a side note if you need some advice about spending money....I'd love for another iPad of my own. ;). All joking aside, go play with one in an Apple store and then make your descision. I own a iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone, and an iPad. I use them all. I decided on the wifi version because my iPhone already fills the 3G role. My best advice is to try it out and see if you'll get any enjoyment and use out of it.

Oh and I think two eggs with two pieces of toast would be good for breakfast. You should also try and take a bathroom break about 2 hours after you start work, keep your blood flowing through your legs and of course drain the wiener.

Jessica, you sound like a miserable person. I never asked for any help, advice, or certainly any of your...attitude for lack of a better word.

I'm just talking about my decision making process that I'm sure some people out there can relate to. If I can't share those thoughts in an iPad forum on an Apple dedicated website, where should I? (that's rhetorical Jessica) If you're not interested, go to the next thread.

I did get a chance to go to the Apple store and play with one for a while, and the immediate sensation when I picked up the device was pretty indescribable. I was very impressed the web browsing and the photos when displayed in full screen mode. I think I will at least wait until Thursday, as one poster mentioned, to see the full short term potential of this thing before I pull the trigger.

Using it is definitely the first step. Look at whether you need the 3G or nit as well! I think that iPhone 4.0 will open up the real potential. Thursday shouldn't make up your mind though. Go ahead and buy it. You can always return it!;)

I got an iPad Saturday, and I was someone who regularly used my phone to browse the web around the house, etc, etc.

I was in the market for a laptop, because I did want to have a portable internet device around the home, but the iPhone screen is quite small to use regularly. So the iPad fit the niche just perfectly for me.

I'm still getting used to it, and it is quite heavy and large when compared to the phone. I would say give it a couple weeks, and see if you still feel like you really want one. That desire may burn away after a bit of time. I can't say that I think the device is going to change the world at this point, and for a lot of people a laptop is simply going to be more convenient to use. Something to think about.

I'm really tempted to get an ipad, and now I'm trying to jusify it. I'm keeping track of how often I use my iPhone for tasks that will be replaced with an ipad. So far, i'm quite surprised by how often I pull my iPhone out around the house.

It's kind of like the guiltless shock you get after wrting down a log of what you eat during a day.

I've been struggling with that as well although I spend a lot of time with my MBP in my lap where the iPad would be a lot lighter and cooler (not hot). The iPhone is used a lot at home for texting.

I guess the bottom line is if you have to really, really justify it in your mind, then perhaps it's not needed. Just another dilemma.

I don't know but i guess that if the iPhone is perfect for your use the the only reason you cud buy a iPad is for the bigger display unless you can deal with merging in to iPhone OS and forgetting about everything else

i don't know it just feels like wasting money to me, but i guess some people use an iPhone more than there computers so i guess the logical thing for these kind of people is to buy the iPad and forget about everything else. Me personally I don't like the limits

Did I miss the lunch decision? :D

haha I skipped lunch but the OP didn't ask me for help there.

OP: Not miserable, just capable of making purchase decisions on my very own. I know, sucks to be me!

But if you did go and check one out and you do like it then you should buy one. Wait, buy one. I think adding "should" in there leads to confusion.
