Oh man. Don't really know what to say other than seems like the audio was there just as a leftover and got scrapped. Don't have the device myself so can't look much more into it. Damn, apple.

After i disable auto boot, but there show battery status when cable is plugged or after i have openend it

Stop auto boot work for my MacBook Pro TB 13"
I disabled boot on lid open.

But the boot chime sound I can't enable.

I have tried everything.
No way

any idea???

I think they took it away. Probably because the chime is a useful diagnostic tool if a machine's acting up, and we can't have things users could use to diagnose problems.

After disabling the autoboot it shows a battery percentage after opening the lid. But as long as it stays on the screen you can't turn on the machine with the power button. Is it possible to also disable the battery percentage?

Disable boot on power source and boot on lid open by running this on terminal:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00

Enable it again by running

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%03

-----
Feature removed by apple on latest firmware, doesn't work anymore.
Bonus: Boot chime control
sudo nvram BootAudio=%00
sudo nvram BootAudio=%01

More about the boot audio thing later.

Hi there,

I am trying to do this but here is what I got on my terminal:

"sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00" gives me this message "sudo: nvram: command not found"

My MacBook Pro's iOS 10.12.6

It would be nice to know what is going on. Thanks,

I have the same question: I bought a new 2018 MBP last week, and didn't know about this autoboot "feature"... one of the first things I did was to disable it with this nvram setting, but then you get the battery percentage on screen and you have to wait for it... any way of disabling it too? (somehow, it's clear that somebody at Apple really trashed the MBP boot procedure --or maybe they just copied the iPad boot to the MBP... Apple is focused in getting rid of everything that is Mac-friendly).

But, back to the point: is it possible to disable the battery percentage screen before boot?
