Mine doesn't seem to cache. Any ideas?
I had the same problem with the cache feature not working even though I replaced the .plist file. I am using a new iPad Air with ios 8.1, and McTube was reinstalled through iTunes (I backed up the app before it was deleted from the App Store).
In the past for both ios 7/8, I was able to regain the cache feature after replacing the .plist file, but not this time. What I found out was that the file kept being overwritten. So I played around with it a bit more and found a solution and got the cache working again.
Steps:
1) Make sure that the device is Jailbroken (in this case, Pangu with ios 8.1)
2) Download and install iFunbox (I used iFunbox Classic):
http://www.i-funbox.com/
3) Next, I had to install "Apple File Conduit 2" and "OpenSSH" from Cydia. In my case, I wasn't able to view the raw directory in iFunbox until Apple File Conduit 2 was installed. OpenSSH will be explained below.
4) In iTunes, copy the saved McTube app back into your new device but don't run it yet.
5) Run iFunbox and navigate to /var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/McTube/Library/Preferences as explained by fcl3. (See attached pic)
6) Delete the old file: com.angryapps.mctubepro.plist and replace it with the downloaded version provided in this thread.
7) Reboot the iPhone/iPad. After restarting, do not run McTube.
8) Go back to iFunbox and navigate back to the McTube Preferenes folder where the .plist was saved.
9) This step involves using OpenSSH: Right click on the .plist file and choose "Permissions." It may give a message about changing the alpine password. If so just click No.
Under Ownership and Permissions, make sure that "mobile" is selected for both Owner and Group. Then under permissions, make sure that only "Read" and "Write" is highlighted next to "Owner" while "Octal" is 0600. Make sure that nothing is highligted for "Group" and "World." "Apply to all files and subdirectories" should remain unchecked. (See attached pic). Then click OK.
10) Start McTube and caching should work.
11) Go back to Cydia and uninstall OpenSSH and Apple File Conduit 2 to make your device more secure again.
Hope that helps.
