This thread is full of more misinformation than any I've read in a while.

OP do yourself a favor and visit some AV forums and do some reading. You wouldn't select a new computer via information you gathered on a TV forum.
I've tried looking at AVForums.com but the information seems so disorganized and not easy to get around in (buying guides or tips would be helpful). Also it is primarily British so the model numbers may not match up, and the needs may be different. Are there any other good sites that you could recommend?

AVS Forums (plural) is British. AVS Forum (Singular) is American. Try here:

AVS Forum is (in my opinion) THE best place to research home theater equipment. It will be overwhelming at first, however. Stick with it. After a while you'll get the feel for it. It is definitely worth it to make sure you get the equipment that suits your needs the best.

Thanks for the link. The British forums though is AVForums.com (not AVS). I will take a look at the link you gave me.
