I have a review for Tweetdeck being uploaded as we speak to youtube. I like it a lot more than tweetie. Check out the review in a bit at my channel, Dannyar10. Should be available shortly.

I also like this app the best for twitter. I bought Tweetie recently, and I hate it.

TweetDeck will be my to-go twitter app from now on (unless tweetie has an update).

It was nice, but I thought Twitterriffic Premium's UI was cleaner and simpler. As far as free Twitter apps go, though, very good.

has anyone else noticed that the app is not showing all of the tweets? i loaded the application closed it and then it lost the last two tweets from two of my friends that it previously displayed.

the only way to see these 'missing' tweets was to go to the individuals tweets where its still shown in tweetdeck. this never happened in twittelator and is sort of a dealbreaker.

Pretty Sweet, Missing a Few Features Though

TweetDeck is pretty sweet but still lacking some features that I got used to from Tweetie and other Twitter apps. There's no nearby searches, Twitter Trends, or quick searching. The app seems to be very fast though. Scrolling through the timeline seems almost like it's going hyperspeed. Other than the missing features, it's seems to be a great contender in the battle of Twitter Apps.

So I figured out how to use trends.

When you are in the "columns" mode, add a new column, change the "column Type" to twitter search, and put anything you want in the search field. Like "#iphone, #Apple, #xbox, #iranelection, etc"

NOW its my favorite twitter app!

AHhhh :D good find, although they should just change it to a column option that displays the trends like twitterific does, I still love the UI, a good match against Twitterifics which I love too.:D

I have to say I like what I see - I especially like the 'growl' notifications, as I wish that the new push notifications worked like that (globally)

Shake to refresh updates is a nice touch too.

How do you sync with your desktop client? My iPhone app is not finding my columns and groups from my desktop.

Those aren't trends, those are hashtags. Trends are just the most popular tagged posts. For instance, right now at search.twitter.com the trends are

Trending topics: #Iranelection , #Haveyouever , Amedisys , OS 3 ,

iPhone , Tehran , TweetDeck , Apple , #gr88 , AEST

There's no way for tweetdeck to show you that these specific topics are the ones trending at any given time.

I like how Tweetdeck looks, but no nearby or trends

Twitterriffic Premium was great til it went down so I tried out Twittelator Pro and loved that

Fantastic app, apart from just one thing:

Is there a way to skip to the last unread message and then work back up to the current time? Scrolling the other way is kind of stupid as it tells you what people have been doing in reverse order.

Any help would be very appreciated. :)

After spending a minute or two with it I must say that it seems incredibly fast! Looks like I'll at the very least, give it a chance. As people have said, I like the list of trends (like in twitterific) and the ability to see what's nearby. I wonder if those will be added/are they and need to discovered. I also can't seem to see how to delete a tweet but that might be there/seems like it could be added fairly easily.

How do you sync with your desktop client? My iPhone app is not finding my columns and groups from my desktop.

You need a TweetDeck account (assuming you haven't got one already).

In the latest version of the desktop client (0.26) click "settings" and then the "sync" tab. You'll be able to create an account from there.

You'll need to enter these additional account details into both your desktop and iPhone TweetDeck.

Hope that helps :)

Update: Scratch that, doesn't seem to be working for me either :/

Yes there are MANY bugs with this release. However, it is still really nice and hopefully they implement location/trends/ability to add multiple friends from a list when replying- in a future update.

I think I'm a bit confused about how apps in general work.

If I have TweetDeck on my iPod touch running with growl notifications on, can I go back to the home screen and launch something else, and get TweetDeck notifications? Do TweetDeck notifications appear on the home screen, like new mail on the Mail app icon?

I don't see the need to sit on Twitter - as with my home Mac, I'd rather it was just in the background, and I got notifications for messages, etc, which I can then look at if needed.

My twitter username has an "_" in it and tweetdeck is giving me an error about special characters and wont let me log on. Anyone else having this problem?

You can also edit the cards if you want to move them physically. When your in columns mode hold down one of them and it will start wiggling along with the rest of the cards, then move them side to side just like you move your apps on your home page :)
