This looks great, and seriously more elegant than other products I've seen for raising a portable computer to eye level.

£65/$80 definitely seems reasonable, given the finish, travel sleeve and versatility.

Same thoughts here, this could be a great solution for many people especially when travelling or only using the laptop.

Twelve south items are definitely premium priced & I'm sure that you can find other similar models for less money. I don't have this stand, but I do have the regular curve & will say that it's been a great stand. I also had the Ghost Stand before that (they stopped making it).

The Curve (and Im assuming this one one as well) are really nicely designed. I use mine to raise my laptop so that it sits next to my external monitor at my home office to give me dual monitors. I live the curve over the other options I looked at (despite the price) because I was able to fit my MacBook underneath where the laptop sits, so I have my work laptop on the stand (giving me dual monitors throughout the work day), then I can just switch the input on ny monitor, keyboard/mouse and then use my Mac after work. If I need dual monitors for personal use or on the weekends, I just pull the MacBook up on top. While I'm sure there are others that have space for an extra laptop underneath the stand this was the only one I found. Most others use the middle of the stand as a base for the riser.

I've found my Twelve South stands (and the PlugBug that I have) to be well made products. Definitely on the expensive side of the accessory market, but also well made.

Functionally it looks like a broken MacBook waiting to happen. The pivot point for tipping over is in the far back, so if someone accidentally bumps the setup they might have a broken MacBook to fix. Form over function is senseless, and in this case way over priced too!
My first reaction too. My 14" MBP is quite heavy, my cat could easily tip that one over. :)

I stopped buying their overpriced nonsense. There are solid awesome options on Amazon, one I recently picked up for like 35$, that is built like a tank and simply awesome.
Yeah, I kinda came to the conclusion too that their stuff, though really nice looking, are overpriced and somewhat in the nonsensical field (not greatly designed for practicality purposes — sometimes). Oh well. The aesthetics of it is nice though…..

Love my Roost Stand, nothing can replace this thing when I‘m travelling. Love the small footprint, exceptional design and functionality. Using it for over 6 years now.

I get why folks comment on the price of this (seeing that there are many cheaper also quality products on Amazon for long time now) - but let me just say that folks who compare this to a pile of books are missing the point. Books would absolutely be clutter on my desk but also - a stand like this allows you to have more adjustment height / angle wise than books. Not to mention that under the laptop you still have the space to store something like for example my headset is under there. Nobody says a stand like this is for everyone but you might be missing out if you think "a pile of books" is the best solution.

First time hearing about this, but just placed an order.

Last week, I had to go into the office and had an important video conference. Because I'm sensitive to the camera height on my 14" MacBook Pro, I literally took a small folded-down Amazon box with me, and unfolded it to get more height. Although that worked great, this is way more elegant and a better long-term solution.
Congrats! Though you might feel a YMMV vibe from some of the posts here, I have always appreciated the workmanship and quality of Twelve South products and definitely recommend them.

Yes! I was gonna post this too. Been using mine since 2015. It's so portable. Love it.

I often travel with my MacBook Pro and take video conferences on-the-go in small offices or out of the way corners. Should I be lugging around a pile of books wherever I go?
No. Think it through. Borrow some books from your hosts’ offices. Doh!

You don't type on it. How would it wobble? Use it for Zoom, FaceTime, movies, YouTube, with a wireless keyboard & trackpad.
I ordered one. Don't understand that perspective either; you put the macbook on the stand, and type on a keyboard/use a separate mouse. Trackpads suck anyway...

Not true, esp for those instances where it is backed by a wall without anyone walking past it.

Does anyone who purchased this over the Summer when it came out have any updated reviews? Any problems come up over time?

I bought it a couple of days ago - posted a thread in the Macs Accesories forum earlier today. It is stable and solid, and i LOVE it thus far. My desk isn't against a wall and the stand and/or my MBP isn't going anywhere - there is no movement or wobble at all in this stand

For those perspective buyers - it's not well designed for the heaviest MacBook Pro 16 inch 2021 and later.

Initially the stand is stable, but the hinge gets loose quickly over time. Less than on a month or so, all of sudden, the stand folds itself with the laptop on it. Luckily my MBP didn't fell off the desk.

I have to really tighten the screws from time to time now, but then you cannot really adjust the height anymore unless you untighten the screws before each adjustment.

I think for lighter laptops this is a great product though.
