I am writing on it right now on my couch and I want to see how many mistakes I am making. Apparently I need some help with this.

I'll make mistakes but the little magnifying glass/selector is easy enough to go back and edit/delete.

Typing on the iPad really isn't too bad. It's all about finger placement and how many fingers you use.

I figured out how to properly use the magnifying glass to select and correct text or enter something I forgot. I had been ecstatic to get my bt keyboard hooked up because it had arrow keys. Now that I'm getting better with the magnifying glass, I don't feel I need arrow keys so badly.

I actually wish you could split the keyboard into two halves so that each side is closer to the edge you can still type with thumbs.

Yes, that. Not to mention, generally resize and reconfigure the keyboard to your liking. Also, swype technology would be nice. Since it's a software keyboard, there should be all kinds of flexibility if Apple would allow it.
