needing a bit of advice ..

I'm doing exactly what other folks have mentioned, I've got an iPhone, activated it through jailbreakme.com, and got my new O2 sim in.

Now, everything works fine, except when i'm sending texts, it says error sending texts. is that a known issue?

I just got my number ported over 15 mins ago, so my phone started getting the signal. edge seems to be working fine, calls are recieved and made. I'm even receiving texts from folks. It's just my texts are going out.

any suggestions?

cheers

give it a while, o2 are still sorting out your stuff.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3B48a Safari/419.3)

Problems like this often happen during the porting process.

Might help if you switched your iPhone off and then on again.

Tell us how you get on.

Hey,

I also have a brand new O2 iPhone sat in a box next to me with an O2 Simplicity £15 per month sim. I had decided that was what I was going to do even before I saw this forum and thread - great minds (and glad someone had experimented before me!) :)

I just want to check that this is the best guide to follow being that 1.1.3 is now out. I understand that for Google maps locator to work you have to upgrade to the proper 1.1.3 as you need the new boot-thingy (forget what it's called) but not sure about the new jailbreak etc.

Am I best to follow this guide and then worry about 1.1.3 later?

Great forum by the way :)

Does everyone using GPRS get an error message when you try to use Youtube? Must be some kind of speed test.

Yes, it covers the EDGE costs. There is a fair usage limit of 200mb per month.

EDGE did not require any special set up - it just worked automatically.

sorry to bump an old thread but im doing the same, my phone is already unlocked via ziphone, ive been on tmobile contract and its up so i was wanting to move to simpilicty o2, as the gprs browsing is driving me mad.
so just to be a real pain in the arse i just wanted to ask if you defo got edge and not gprs.

sorry to be a pain haha
