Can we reasonably expect the rumored Oct 27th event to happen considering invites have not been received yet?

I suppose a silent update would still be possible either way.

I'm ok with a silent update. Just wishing for that redesign, killer GPU (Polaris), and expanded and more affordable SSD options.

And perhaps a surprise release of a 24" model please

On October 15, 2013, Apple sent out invites for it's October event on the 22th. I see a reasonable chance for this to happen again this year. Based on what we know now, invites are likely to be sent out either this Tuesday or Thursday.
