So iTunes via your iPad looks different and has different content from the iTunes I look at on my Mac ?

I rushed home to view the app store on my iPad but as am I currently browsing the games the prices (at least for EA) are way to high for an impulse buy. £7.49 for mirrors edge and command and conquer. Now I have to read reviews and weigh up the pros before dropping that kind of money. no lite editions either.

It was the same with the iPhone App Store - Devs will test the water to find out what the accepted price for new games will be.
Also, they know that new buyers love the smell of fresh apps, and many will impulse-buy, regardless of the pricing.
With this situation repeating itself as every nation launches, it's a licence to print money.

It looks different, yes. I was browsing through it tonight and couldn't help but realise it's a very unintuitive interface at the moment. Just two columns, one for paid apps and one for free apps. I think soon it will be updated to be easier to navigate...probably more like the desktop iTunes. Its alright for a quick search, but browsing the top lists is a pain, particularly as it resets back to the first page (only loads ten apps at a time) when something is downloaded.

Yeah, that's very irritating. I was halfway into the free apps list, clicked on an app to see some screenshots, and when I went back, it went to the start of the bloody list!
