Hey do you have a link for this offer? (The Office Max iTunes gift card offer.)
Yes, here is a link to their weekly store ad. It's on page four, the final page. The sale ends today. Caution - Flash alert if you are on your iPad. There is a link in the upper right corner for an html version, though. It appears that you can make the purchase from their web site, and least if this link is an indication.

I've also discovered this works on their website!

Thanks :D ... I just spent £155 for £200 worth on their website! ..

Thanks also everyone else for saying 'get them to scan it at the till'. We would have done that if the website hadn't worked but didn't really have the time to go back into town today!

What a nice surprise this morning :)

Just to add some info, I sent a family member to Clinton Cards on Friday to pick up two £15 iTunes cards whilst I waited at home for the UPS man, and the staff knew nothing about the deal -they all but called my family member a crazy liar... but when they scanned the cards at the register, the discount was applied automatically ;)

... One word of caution, I believe they are only usable in the currency they were bought in, so you can't use British cards on an American iTunes account for example.

You're right about this, but that's not a new thing.

Thanks for posting the thread though. I wouldn't have known anything about it otherwise.

Just to confirm if anyone's still thinking of taking them up on this offer it's still on today (and it took 15 minutes hanging around in-store to get that answer, not impressive) but is probably ending when they close tonight. Not sure about their web site though.

Also, to all those who replied with thanks you're very welcome, glad to be of help. :D

Cunning, didn't realise the website had the same promotion since there's no indication... add the items to the basket and you get the discount...

Ordered a couple £25's for £40 (had to pay delivery charge but still saved a tenner)

Thanks to the original poster - just back from a trip to Clintons Cards and 4 £15 cards for the princely sum of £45. Now off to look in the apps store!

Thanks for the tip. I got £60 worth for £50 with postage.

What was great for me was that I'd just got £30 cash back from Quidco. So I used that towards the itunes vouchers. In reality £60 only cost me £20!
:D
For once I win.

Thanks again.

The iPad is my first Apple device so I have no history with iTunes. I bought cards to the value of £80 using the Clintons offer and am already half way through my credit.

What I'm wondering is whether offers on iTunes cards is at all common or whether it's really rare to see them discounted in the UK. I'm not talking about Clinton cards in particular, I'm talking about the UK retail and online markets in general.

Are there other shops that have a history of doing this (HMV? WH Smiths? The big supermarkets?) that are worth keeping an eye on?

Argos & Morrisons have both done this kind of offer before... clinton's have too on several occasions... but they tend to be either very short times or have very limited stock levels for them... But they've been either Buy One, get one half price or a 3for2 type deal

Given the Zero profit margin (surely since its effectively cash) for the retailers its pretty amazing that they take a loss on these cards.... unless its Apple who's taking the hit and sells them cheap to the retailers...

WH Smiths have been known to do this too, often with a voucher from a paper and usually something like 'buy two £15 cards for £20'.

These sorts of offers seem to have a tendency to pop up around holidays (and, apparently, the launch of magical devices...) and can be a bit of a bugger to track down. If I spot anything I'll make sure to post it here though.

Thanks folks, that's exactly the type of feedback that I was looking for. I'll keep my eyes peeled, especially around holidays, and stock up again the next time I see something worthwhile.

retailers usually do deals on iTunes cards because the design is going to change/has changed.

for example, christmas designed itunes cards

They still have a load of Christmas and valentines themed iTunes cards at the clintons here in brum.

So what have you guys brought with your free money?

Heh, fair question. I've taken the plunge on a couple of more expensive iPad games (I use the phrase loosely, £7.50 is still pretty good) and got Mirror's Edge and Scrabble, plus tried out Wired and a couple of other apps I wouldn't otherwise have gone for, at least not just yet. Plus a few audiobooks and an album I couldn't find on the high street.

Mostly though it's being used as money in the bank against future purchases to be honest. I'm expecting to start seeing some pretty cool iPad apps in the next few months so it doesn't hurt to have a few quid in hand just in case :D

Have people who ordered online got their cards yet?

I ordered Monday afternoon, they emailed to say that they'd sent them on Wednesday but nothing has arrived in the post yet. I suppose I should wait until Monday before chasing them up.
