Cancelled my upgrade with Vodafone but received a text this morning say that I owe them the early upgrade fee! Also received a text saying the parcel will be delivered to my road with no house number..... 🙄

Glad I cancelled that upgrade now! Every year the carriers are hopeless.

How does the date slip twice from release day then all of a sudden I’m being told it’s ready to collect on Friday. Bizarre

According to one of the MR articles from a few days ago they were having some production difficulties initially with the midnight green colour that were constraining supply, I guess they ironed those out?

Can't remember how/if they let you know about dispatch.

I did click and collect and its in my city today - no email - checked order status in my account and saw the uk mail carrier details and parcel ID

Sorry to bring it back up but the best way to backup current XS is iTunes encrypted backup? Do you know how much space is required as I wasn’t able to do it yesterday as I’ve only got 50gb left on my SSD. Does it need to be more than the storage usage on the phone? Currently using 100gb with all my pictures etc

If it's from a carrier/third party retailer I think you can. Direct from Apple, no

I ordered through CPW too, although only Tuesday this week. It was still showing as delivery for the 20th (11 pro, 256gb) and confirmed with live chat it’d be available to collect on launch day. They’ve taken the money, or at least the charge appears on my credit card statement.

All seemed a bit too easy!

The advisor I spoke to on live chat told me that "they get the stock in" on the 20th but that seems unlikely. I'll let you know if I get any movement on my order!

They do sometimes have that option, if it’s actually possible for them to do so for your route.

I remember for the X release loads of people did and DPD couldn’t deal with the demand and people still got later deliveries. Then had the hassle of getting money back from DPD.

Just hang fire and wait for ‘dave’ or whoever your driver will be to be arrive. You’ll be watching out your window for anything that sounds like a van, chasing them down the street if one doesn’t stop at your door, and freaking the direct out when you address him by his first name when he knocks

As we start to receive despatch notifications, I understand the overwhelming urge to share tracking page screenshots etc.

Just a friendly reminder: DO NOT share your tracking details or the SMS from DPD et al. Almost every year someone does, and some spiteful person manages to use this information to change delivery dates and addresses etc. 🙂

I've just had an email from DPD saying my order will be delivered tomorrow. Problem is I don't know if this is the EE order or the Apple order I made as a backup option. I tried to cancel with Apple but they said it was preparing to ship. On Apple's site it still says preparing to ship, and EE said they use DPD, so I'm very hopeful it is the EE order, although I've no way of telling as EE's tracking SMS link isn't working still.

Any thoughts?
