And this is the very reason I do collection every year.On the plus side though, no chance of our parcel being delayed/lost/stolen! (touch wood)

I guess it is due to the location, since mine was ordered today, or could be the model since mine is only a pro not a pro max?Mine is saying Saturday. NI delivery and my order was placed on 16th at 10.51am
Yeah mine is a pro max.I guess it is due to the location, since mine was ordered today, or could be the model since mine is only a pro not a pro max?
They usually deliver themselvesYeah mine is a pro max.
Anyone know who they use for delivery or do they deliver themselves?
That price does seem ridiculous, I’ve just swapped to EE from O2 and took out their full works plan on sim only, get 20% off so it came to £34.40 a month and includes European, AUS/NZ and US/CAN roaming, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate & TNT Sports, the TNT & Xbox extras alone would cost £33 a month. Decided to just get the phone outright this year and probably swap it in again this time next year. For the EE people, the prices seem insane?!
£30 upfront (pro max 256gb) at £85.97 a month x24 = £2070 + annual RPI.
Surely the way to go is Barclays interest free and a SMARTY SIM or similair?
It’s not 80% to avoid the health dropping to 80%, it’s 80% because above that the SOC will speed up degradation. There are other reasons for the battery to degrade quickly that have more impact though, temperature and speed of charge is a huge (related) reason.oh I know about the benefits of charging up to 80% SoC and with EVs too (a lot comes down to cost vs efficiency of how more time and energy it takes to get from 80-100% compared to 0-80% SoC)
but my unclear point was if anyone was going to limited themselves to 80% of the battery on their phone... I can't say I've had a phone long enough where they battery health has got anywhere near 80%.. and if it ever did in the 2 years I had apple care, it would be getting a battery replacement.
the reality is I'll have this phone for 11months before the 16 and I'll be using all the battery benefits I'm paying for from the pro max.
if this phone is a 'keeper' for 3 years+ then go for it, especially if you're happy to sacrifice a drop of 20% usage
Dunno, my 14 Pro just gets put on (wired) charge overnight every night (with optimised battery charging on) and it's still at 100% health after a year, so I don't think it's a major worry for most people. I do still use an old 5W iPhone charger, mind you (no need for anything more as it's got plenty of time to charge) so the phone never gets hot while charging: I suspect that probably has a lot to do with it.
I’m stuck in the office all day too 💀. I too am hoping we hear something around later morning to early afternoon. I did once have to wait until after 9pm; the most stressful shipment day I’ve had so far 😂Spending tracking day in the office is just a buzzkill! Hopefully we’ll all be getting details though in about 6 hours or so!
Must admit I didn’t spend loads of time holding / touching before putting the new iPhone into it on Friday, but do think it should be ok.How does it feel in the hand? I had the clear case for the iPhone 12 and it felt slippier than the naked iPhone 12 itself 😂
Good luck with tracking and shipment emails. Mine is late second bst undue to issues with the store. I am helping Friday morning or Saturday morning when they offer additional stock can get a 15 PM
Mine updated this morning! If this happens, Argos have been my saviour this year after the catastrophe I had with Apple.
Well I’m paying £79 a month for 256GB pro max with zero upfront but that’s due to my annual upgrade which is unlimited everything. It is expensive and luckily they let me use the perk discount on the annual upgrade which must be new as they never let you do it before. There’ll be lots of noise about stores having stock then not having stocks, people having inside info from CEOs, neighbours cleaner etc.
Most major retailers and networks will have some stock for Friday so hopefully most of us early adopters will have one turning up tomorrow if you’re expecting it.
Stay clam folks.. going to be a busy day!
And if it doesn’t come, ah well.. it’s just a phone right?![]()
