2 soft searches showing currently.
1st one is cancelled so will stay as a soft search, 2nd if completed would I assume become a hard search.
This will be be my first hard search this year so no biggie for me.
You have completed both loan applications. You received the paperwork for both I assume. They will both show as hard searches in a few weeks, wether you cancel one or not.

I’m trading in my current phone via Apple for the first time because I want to compare the 13 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max side by side.

I’m still in two minds about upgrading… the main appeals of the 15 Pro Max are the titanium frame, camera upgrades and the RAM increase. However, the design is pretty similar overall. I want to try it out for a few days before sending off my trade-in.

If I do commit, I really want to hang onto the new phone for a few years and I’m thinking the new chip with the 2x faster Neural Engine and 8GB RAM will make it a forward-thinking model. Much like the 5s or Xs were, for example.

Do you get a better warranty with John Lewis?

Yes you do, two years but it's rubbish in my opinion and when you need to use it, they barely cover anything!

They are also nightmare with their security checks especially when you are buying something with a high value as an iPhone, and takes a few days to hear back if your order has been approved or not.

more ram is good, but I'v never ever thought to myself once.. oh this feels slow.

I do however notice now I've gone back to my Xr.. if you're upgrading regularly then its incremental differences..

I'm sure your 13 would last fine for a few more years but you know the 15 will do so for even longer.

the camera tech seems to be the space where the changes are more substantial...

For those wanting to trade in a phone with Apple and buy a new device at the same time:

Was there anything which could, maybe should, have been done before the store closed this morning ahead of re-opening at 13:00 BST?

Asking as I haven't done whatever it is, and now obvs can't. Am conscious that those extra seconds might delay me getting the natural titanium finish I want for launch next Friday 😬😬

After ummming and aaaaahing since the launch day, I have finally pre pre ordered the pro max but I am dreading the size of it. Someone please make me feel better by telling me that I’ll be alright with the max behemoth 😂

I guess updating/checking the shipping address might have been a good idea

Rejected for Barclays finance through Apple. I’ve never missed a mortgage or credit payment and my salary is quite high, no idea why it’s been rejected. Anyone had similar issues?

Anyway, i’ll try and buy through EE.

Yes has happened to a few people this time it seems.

I've been approved fine the past 2 years but this time I got declined for some reason, even though my situation has improved if anything.

Somebody else earlier said that it can sometimes be down to location, for example if a lot of people in your area have defaulted on payments it can affect everyone else getting approved.

My thoughts also, although my comparison is with the 12Pro which is currently in a leather Snakehive case with clasp. I want to assess the 15PM in the hand for weight and size. That will also help me decide on the type of protective cover for the back of the 15PM.

Ack, I have an important appointment that starts right at 1PM and lasts an hour. What are the chances of successfully going on the online store on launch day and ordering one for in-store pickup as soon as it releases? I'm not queueing overnight again, last time I did that it was the iPhone 6 and there were fights!

Can you give your device to someone you trust to do it? :/

if you can, pop to a store that has a iPhone 14 pro max and pro displayed and it will give you the best indication if you'll be alright with the max.

I love my max and the size never bothered me

I‘m so sick of the size of it after maybe 2 years now that I really wanted to downsize but Apple being Apple, decided to put exclusive things on the Max so here I am with my 3rd year…

Better battery life is worth the trade off for me.

Plus this year it's lighter anyway - it will be fine.

I would be going pro rather than max this year, if not for the camera. I find the max just a nibble heavy when I'm holding it at certain angles, but maybe the weight shave with the titanium will remove that.

Literally no one here can tell you why you’ve been rejected
