New Macbooks are coming, get ready for a bump. My guess is...... nothing drastic or Apple would have an event but a bump for sure. I wonder if it will continue with its GMA950? This will put a end to the when is apple going to have a new Macbook thread for at least a week.:)

So pessimistic. :)

Hmmmm....I wonder if they would upgrade the Macbooks enough to make me want to trade in my new MBP for one.

Well if they really bring out C2D MacBooks, then C2D Mac minis aren't that far away... would be a good enough reason to get me one. :D

I think there will be C2D Mac Minis when Leopard is released. But not now. Or maybe they're keeping them for MWSF.

I have a strong feeling that the new Macbooks will come with 1 GB of RAMs as standard. You heard it here first

Playing devil's advocate

Appleinsider reports three new hardware sku's coming to the US this week and mentions MacBooks, but unable to confirm.

http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2207

Over on Macintouch a reader posts that he was told by an Apple Store manager that "The manager of the store told me that he believed, due to information he had received about CD stock, that new ones would be coming before Christmas."

Displays would need three sku's as well.

So perhaps it's new 20, 24, 30 displays......

Or it's MacBooks. I need a laptop anyway. :D

With everything else Core 2, the Mac Minis are going to like even poorer value than they are now. Especially considering there is no price difference between core duo and core 2 at the low end - the only reason not to upgrade them is to make the more expensive models look better.

Would you put it past Apple to do this?

I agree that the minis are quite poor value right now. I probably would have bought one a long time ago if the starting model had been at about $500.

Yeah, I'd think MWSF. As I said, I am gonna get me some as soon as they are there. I have been thinking about setting up a movie/music server for some time now and the minis would be the best front-ends for that.
The only thing I'd need Apple to do now is to upgrade their res to HD, get more movie studios on board like Microsoft...

the US store is down as well.
we already know the specs of the new MacBooks from Play.com
the only C2D MacBooks will be the high-end white model (2GHz) and the black model. The 1.83 I think is staying the same but with a SuperDrive standard.
