UK to get updated iPhone model?

Ok, maybe a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. If they do release a 3G iPhone in the UK and we were to take a trip over there to buy it, would it work on the AT&T 3G network here?

Not really. If the US version is locked to ATT then why wouldn't the EU version be locked to their networks? EU can't have the US iPhone, so US can't have EU's. ;p
