Hi,
I have an iPhone Air and I have made 10 payments on the current (but ending) iPhone upgrade programme in the UK. The Apple Store app says I can upgrade with an in store payment. So I assumed I could go into the store, make the final payment a few weeks early and then switch to a new phone on their new flexible finance option . I am away for the next month or so, so I wanted to get this sorted before I go away. The store did a quick scan of my phones serial number and they said they were unable to let me upgrade as I hadn’t had the phone a year. Can anyone confirm if that seems correct? I tried to phone apple but they were clueless and useless.

If you upgrade now is it really an upgrade as you'd be moving to a same generation model!

I'd wait until the 18's are out.

Sorry, that didn't really help!

actually the 17 in a way is a downgrade from the air as the air has the same cpu and ram as the pros and in i0s 27 you will not get the full AI features on the base 17

What do you not like about the air out of interest?
One camera is limiting, I am going to New York in October and I want now more options for my photos. Battery life has been terrible over the summer months. The phone is constantly getting hot and lasting until 3/4pm before needing a full charge, this is on very light use

the base 17 isnt a lot better for battery then the air. just get the magsafe battery pack and it gives the air roughly the same battery as the PM and you can use pano to make up for lack of ultra wide as thats the only camera that the base 17 has over the air. you can even use the selfie camera as a ultra wide. if you want a phone for camera use then your only option is a 17 pro. the air is also more durable compared to the base 17 as its made out of titanium. base 17 has the same 10x max zoom as the air
