Wow, sounds like someone is really jealous of campers. I camped once, it was a lot of fun. However, I got lucky that I was camping with some really cool people. Its rare it goes that well.
If you really think that by walking in at 5:45p will get you an iPhone, well good luck to you. Depending on your area, you might be able to pull it off. Just don't get upset and cry if you don't get an iPhone using this method.
I don't see what the problem is with someone who bought the item to turn it around on eBay. They are taking a risk that they might have stood in line for an entire day for little or no profit. If they make money off it, more power to them. Personally, I would rather pick up side work and make more money that way. To each their own. Then again, I just got done selling my Murloc pet from Blizzcon 2 years ago on eBay for $700. Yes, $700. I couldn't believe someone would pay that much, but hey ... its very limited edition you can't get them anymore. What's out there, is what's out there.
Complaining about those who camp is ... well, words can not describe how silly that is. First come, first serve. If you can't spend 12 hours standing in line, well you will need to wait for the next shipment.
Thankfully, I have a job that would allow me to camp out. Doesn't mean I am going to though. Mostly because I really don't feel like it.
Ya know, I really hope their is enough iPhones to go around. I wouldn't want to see people go home with empty arms. However, looking at the reality of it, in major areas there just won't be enough.

This is what vacation days are for, duh, rookies!!
Believe me if i had them i would use them, unfortunately i wont untill i have worked there a year. but its besides the point all i am saying is don't rain on someone else's parade.
I wouldn't be surprised if they actually prevent people from camping. This isn't a video game console. We're talking about Apple/Steve Jobs.

TenaciousPZ is way out of line. I personally am not camping, but who cares if someone camps and gets an iPhone before you? Like others have said, people are excited about getting this item and want to ensure they secure one and to participate in the excitement associated with that day. That is simply how some people want to spend their day and it is not harming you so there is nothing wrong with that at all (note: excluding the type of people who get multiple and then price gouge online).
