i am having the same problem

i am having the same error when installing ultrasn0w...."could not activate cellular data network....and i have tried restore and rejailbreak but when i try and unlock using ultrasn0w....the same thing happens again....

Hey I had the same problem, I read this in another forum give it a try.

Firstly, make sure ur phone is fully jailbroken and unlocked. Confirm this by making a call.

Next, go to settings->general->network.
Make sure Cellular data is ON.

Now stay in the same screen, remove ur sim.
A new popup notification will appear: No sim installed.

DO NOT PRESS 'OK'.

Re-insert the sim now.

'Cellular data network' option will now be visible.

Enter the correct APN inside, u should be good to go.

This works fine until u restart the phone, upon which u gotta repeat the procedure.

thanks dude, these were perfect instructions for my iphone 4 jailbreak on 4.1 w/limera1n

Help

Hi

I had upgrade and jailbraked 4.2.1. version and tried to run the latest ultrasn0w to unlock my phone. When I was running ultrasn0w after jailbrake, it shows "can not activate cellular data network" at the end of the installation. After restart the SpringBoard and it got back to the main screen, I can not get any phone signal at all. I tried to reboot several times and reinstall the ultrasn0w but the result is the same. After upgrade my base band is now 05.15.04. I can only get the WIFI to work for now but no phone signal at all. The error message will only come up when I try to reinstall ultrasn0w again. Please can anyone help!!

Thanks in advance

Hey, Guys
Can someone shed light on why I am getting this "Error" when using Ultrasn0w?
I have installed and removed and re-installed Ultrasn0w numerous times and keep getting the same "Could Not Activate Cellular Data Network" ..ERROR!

Can someone who knows what this is about please explain what i am doing wrong and what the proper procedure is for Unlocking with UltraSn0w?

I am on AT&T carrier iOS 4.0.1, Jailbroken and on WiFi and have tried on 3G as well

Thank you Gentlemen;)

Check your BB. If it with 05.14.04 then it is not compatible with Ultrasnow for 4.2.1.

You need to upgrade your BB to IPad BB 06.15.00 first before you can unlock your phone.

Life saver.

I had this phone come in from a Spanish network, used it in a Swiss Orange network, then I had moved to Korea for their KT network, at first before the 5.1.1 upgrade, I was able to use it with the 5.0.1 with ultrasn0w, but after I upgraded to 5.1.1 and after having deleted all the contents off the iPhone (not Cydia etc), I realise it will not catch the network as it previously did.

I performed all things possible. Reflashing the iPad baseband, downgrading the baseband, uninstalling and reinstalling all ultrasn0w material, jail breaking again and again, which sometimes gave me the coveted activation screen, tried the SAM thing (which has been disabled by Apple), and when I had almost given up, I noticed ultrasn0w during installation was giving me this error message, and just by pure chance I realised that none of the 3G or cellular network was on. Which I tried to put on, but no difference in the reception. But the last magic trick changed everything.

Now stay in the same screen, remove ur sim.
A new popup notification will appear: No sim installed.

DO NOT PRESS 'OK'.

Re-insert the sim now.

Magic.

Thank you.

I can now hand this over for my iPhone 5 repo.
