@commander --> I am in the process of re-downloading the sdk...

I am avoiding going for the format way...it's the last resort... ;)

Just a thought...i would like to do a checksum process on the dmg file downloaded...from where can i get the checksum of iphone sdk 2.2.1...

Thanks
amal

Also make sure to empty your /Developer folder as someone else suggested. Do this before you attempt to reinstall the SDK.

Assuming you know how to delete files/dirs from a shell, it will be much faster if you do this from terminal, rather than dragging everything to the trash and waiting for that to empty.

I understand :D Hopefully the re-download will help you. I've had some odd cases where a downloaded package would not install and these were usually fixed by re-downloading.

I agree formatting is a last resort, but you have much more patience than I do... I would've wiped and reinstalled by now! :)

Downloaded the sdk again...on my windows machine..

case 1:
copied it to my mac...

when i double click on dmg file..the verification process starts...and bang..error message....verification failed --> "codec overrun"..

though when i skip the verification process , the dmg file gets opened...with no fruit yet...it fails at the very same point as before..."The installation failed, there was no software found to be installed"...

case 2:

got connected to windows and ran the dmg file...now no "codec overrun" message as such..verification done successfully.....but end result the same..."The installation failed, there was no software found to be installed"...

why does a codec overrun message happen..

Thanks

There's your problem, bad download. Try a different browser to download, or use wget/curl/etc., or better still download direct to your Mac.

though when i skip the verification process

If it doesn't verify then don't expect it to install.

got connected to windows and ran the dmg file

Wait, what?

Xcode is Mac software; it won't run on Windows.

re-downloaded the sdk...and it all worked perfectly fine....

thanks to all guys here for the help...by helping me getting acquainted with my new mac environment...

Thanks

iPhone SDK not found in iPhone SDK Package???

I can't seem to install the iPhone SDK... Am I going crazy?

In final_about_xcode_3.1.4_and_iphone_sdk_3.1.2_leopard.pdf the Installation instructions metion that the Xcode installer provides four main options for configuring the installation - one of which is the iPhone SDK. How ever when I open the iPhone SDK installer, I don't see any option to install the iPhone SDK!!! If I check all the options and continue, Xcode installs fine, but there is no options to start an iPhone project and it helpfully suggests I download the iPhone SDK to continue.

Where is the option to install the iPhone SDK!?!?!

I've tried re-downloading the .dmg and uninstalling previous versions of Xcode using the bundled uninstaller command:

sudo <Xcode>/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all

I've also tried removing the entire Developer directory. I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a MacBook : |

Has anyone ran into this before?

Thanks,

John

Problems running xcode, interface builder and simulator at the same time.

After successfull installation of iphone sdk, I launched xcode. Sometimes it works (but no other programs can be launched then). In other occassions it dies.
Interface Builder and simulator work fine (other applications can be launched while they are working). I've tried mac os x 10.5.5 and 10.5.8 and it happens the same. I've also tried different versions of iphone sdk: 3.1, 2.2.1 ... No luck.
The problem is that all three programs must be running at the same time to build a project. For example, if you run xcode and then double-click the .nib file, Interface Builder doesn't open. So the project can't be done.
How can I fix this? How can I manage to have all three applications running?
Are there any other ways to do this, e.g. not running all three programs and being able to carry out a project?
I've been googling for days trying many solutions (no luck) and I'm a bit stuck.
Thanks in advance!!

I forgot a detail. It happens the same with xcoce 3.1.4, 3.1.3, 3.1.2.
